I did a bit of digging around this forum, but couldn't see any notice of this discussion. In regards to Brawl; sure, I am aware some people are going to import it a play it a few days later once it has arrived to wherever they live....but I was wondering, does anyone on this forum (bar myself) actually live in Japan and will go down to a shop and buy it on the 24th to play straight away?

I already have my preorder put down and 6000(ish) Yen ready to go! :3

So what Kiri is saying is that he will be able to give us tons of info come the Japanese release of brawl. Let us know (at least those who want to know) the final roster as soon as you get it.

I live in Texas but i will be playing a japanese import. Let's just say my wii is region frii....

So i guess i can report how laggy US/Japan matches will be

Finally someone gets it :p Spread the word - I'll even take a photo of my preorder ticket if others don't believe you when you tell them about me!

Oh and I can speak moonspeak, so I won't have many problems translating things.

I'm not from Japan, though intend to visit someday, maybe even live there. =] The UK is great for comedians, patriotism and general Empire-like business :p But for getting decent games? Eurgh, NO. Woohoo, Minish Cap first... like we CARE compared to Brawl! =[

So yeah, give us roster info! =D XD

Another UK Brawl resident here, probably gonna import a Japan/USA version of Brawl and have my Wii region Frii'd, somehow! Meh. Jealous as me.

I know you were kidding, but I'll just clarify I meant from Japanese into English for us guys :)

Also, who would I have to speak to to get a sticky made for me on launch day so I can update to tell everyone the good news? I plan to have photos/videos and live updates on my entries...so who do I talk to to let me do that?

lol ummmm its kinda sad that u guys are importing wiis.... if u live in Euro i understand cause thats a long time to wait. But man just wait the 20 days in america lol unless u just got money to waste i no i dont.

You would need to PM one of the mods (Mic_128, Gimpyfish, Scav, SamuraiPanda, Youko, etc.) or contact an admin (though you'd be better off PMing a mod). Likely they'll discuss it between themselves first, tell you if you can have a sticky, and then let you know when you can post it and to PM them when you have and it'll be stickied.

I have but one request, could you give roster spoilers and whatnot, but not do any SSE spoilers? thats the one thing I'd like to keep a secret until I play it, and Im sure many others feel this way. And I'd just feel good if I knew there was a thread I could go to, that would not reveal any SSE spoilers to me while I look at the characters.

I agree with gannondorf4ever, sort of. Kiri if you could have separate topics (not separate threads, but separate sections in your post) that would be great. Have a character roster section, then something like how unlock characters (since most character are unlockable in the SSE I probably won't look at this section), then a SSE section, and anything else you can think of. I don't want to know anything about SSE until I play it (except the stuff that is on the Dojo/E4All), but I don't think you should restrict the people who want to see spoilers about the SSE.

Oh, and please use spoiler wraps!!

I think it would be cool if you spoiled the roster by telling us HOW to get a character, except the name of the character could be in a spoiler box. That way, people could find out how to get someone, and get the surprise when they challenge someone they didn't entirely expect.

I live in Japan when I was like 7. I stayed their for 3 years because my dad was stationed their. Yep, he was a Navy Seal.

That and I'm really lookin forward to when 4 chan and Kiri spoil the character roster. Completed character roster mind you.

I hope that everyone should know that Wii's ARE NOT import friendly. There are programs that can get around that but I wouldn't do it.

Just to reply to all those messages - thank you for the help about what I can do to get a thread/sticky...I'll be following that up nearer the time of JPN release.

I'll be sure to use spoiler wraps for those that don't want *everything* spoiling! I'll be sure to do my best! I'd advise people to come on the boards on: JANUARY 23rd @ 10pm (EST), 7pm (PST), or if you're in the UK, JANUARY 24th from 3am onwards. After these points, I'll start posting on this site.

I have an import Wii, and I plan on getting Smash as soon as possible after the Japanese release date. I'll have to wait a while, but I prefer to play it in Japanese anyways.

EDIT: Modded Wiis can play import games, but they can't upgrade to newer firmwares. If you want to play Brawl early, I suggest importing a Wii.
