I'd rather they focus on balancing the multiplayer than trophies, since trophies would only occupy people for a few months whereas they'll go on to play multiplayer SSB for the next 5-6 years.

Trophies were more exclusive to Melee. I'd like to see them focus on the gameplay (Adv. mode, online multiplayer, etc.) and only include some new extra stuff if there's space left over.
Just because trophies were first introduced in Melee doesn't make them "exclusive." And where do people get this idea that developers just add content until the disc is full and then stop? Space probably isn't an issue. Time isn't necessarily one either, since trophies would pretty much be a job for the artists and not programmers. Not every member of the devteam does the same job guys. You can't just look at one feature being added and conclude that it came at the expense of a new character or something.
I want to see trophies again, especially if online doesn't work out, because they added a ton of replay value to the singleplayer game. There wouldn't be much to do if you just unlocked stages and characters and then you're done.

Luckily they'll probably return. All the characters that don't make it as PC's, AT's, and other NPC's always have a chance as trophies. So I see no reason why not, unless we have literally hundreds of AT's! That would rock, but it's not going to happen!

I'm thinking maybe, assist trophies will be the trophies that are earned. Why else would they call them trophies?

Well hmm GC disc had about 1.5 GB space and the Wii disc is 8.5 GB.. so about 5.6 times more space? I have to say that the graphics for Brawl.. Aren't all THAT much better than Melee's, and overall the graphics aren't that great compared to competitors.
But I say there is a lot of space to be used, I'd rather it be used on characters and content etc. I wasn't too interested in the trophy part of Melee. I hate having to collect stuff like that.
If its in I'll deal with it, but I'm not hoping for its return.

I believe they will return, after all they will show bio's of items, stages, characters so it's logical that they might include them for that purpose

Not too many things could replace trophies. I think the more things they have in Brawl for collecting, the happier I'll be. I'm definatly a 100% completion kind of person.

No. In fact, this update confirms that trophies are returning:
"Stickers are easier to get a hold of than trophies."

Well, he calls it a new collection element. These are so much different from trophies that I can't imagine they're a replacement. It seems you just earn random ones as you play, something like coins in SSB:M, which means that there would be no potential for unlocked stickers. They'd be a pretty crappy replacement for the special requirement trophies. Not to mention that they completely lack text descriptions..

I think the most interesting thing about this update is that in the screenshot showing how you place stickers it shows Gamecube buttons. They're clearly not pushing the wiimote on people in this game. In fact, it seems almost like they prefer the Gamecube controller (I know he's said that he likes the Gamecube controller because of the powerful rumble, but I highly doubt that's the reason. It seems to me that he just likes the way the controls work on the Gamecube controller).

I see Super Mario Strikers Wario, Mario Party Dice, Super Mario Sunshine Mario, and even Rawk Hawk? I'm just afraid nOObs are going to get the wrong ideas that some of this confirms characters. Like they may think Rawk Hawk could lead to Paper Mario being playable.

Yeah, it's obvious that the Gamecube controller is better suited for Smash than the alternatives. And in a screenshot where he has to show a control scheme in use, it makes sense that he would pick his favorite.

Stickers look ALRIGHT. But I prefer trophies I suppose, I mean, like others, I love reading the description on Trophies. Its like... learning from god. The god is Sakurai.

Stickers seem... different. They justs seem like trophies without description...or depth.
Who knows, maybe there is going to be more to trophies this round than just describing things. I'll just have to stay tuned.

you do actually have a point there...
But i think these stickers are just another thing to collect, not replacing trophies. And I personally think that they are just kinda lame.
They are just so....kiddish and babyish i think. Trophies are cooler I think.

I think trophies are much better than stickers. With trophies, you can view the model in full 3D. ¬¬ I just hope they'll add trophies alongside stickers.
