It waaay to early to tell, every single player will buy the game and try it out before dismissing it.

I predict the next few dozen posts will be about pro Smash players' looks.

Also, it's too early to know who will be jumping ship or staying on the boat, OP.

You really should have stopped at the clone joke, now you're just making an *** of yourself.

Why do you care? If you're friends with them, then I can see you caring. If you do know them, then ask them on AIM or something.

so, I haven't really read any of the other replies, but I don't think anyone can make a true judgement about whether they will stick with melee until we actually play the final version of Brawl...

Who cares if top melee players transfer over to brawl or not? It's not like they are guaranteed to be the top brawl players. Chances are there will be some of the pros not wanting to let go of their game and i'm sure we'll hear a lot of "Brawl sucks so i'm not playing it" from those people.

Tech skill will only transfer over so much, and everyone will have to learn the ins and the outs of brawl all over again. It's pretty clear that what makes a pro a pro is not how technical he can be, but rather about how much knowledge you have of the game. (i.e. what to do in each situation)

Unless they are realy dedicated to the franchise, i'm willing to bet that most top melee players wont be the top brawl players. It's like saying when melee came out all the top 64 players were gonna be the best melee players. (**** Isai being an exception)

we're months away until the game is out, how do you know for sure that Brawl sucks so much that people won't play it at all?

QFT.

WD wasn't in 64. After playing melee they discovered it. There are going to be new techniques no matter what. Most likely people will find a way to space if it is the same or better than wavedashing. You can stick to Melee and be in denial that Brawl most likely will be better even though it may not have the techs you want. I mean moves/techs are just like characters, some will be in, some won't but then there will be new ones.

And just fyi, I can L-Cancel, WD, and do other techs and I'm not just a noob saying this so I think I will be pro.

Sepiroth Ken was really good at N64 SSB before SSBM came out. When SSBM came out he hated it but eventually he caught on and became one of the best players ever known.

Honestly, I think the game is being dulled. I mean I don't REALLY know because I have not played it but things that have been brought up are showing this game to be less technical (not just taking out wavedashing) but because they took wd out they also made air dodging in any direction Impossible, I think thats very important. They take one thing out at the cost of two things......not an even trade (in my opinion)

Wow, this is quite a ignorant statement. When melee came out, were there any technical strategies? It took a few YEARS for the full potential of the game to show up. As for airdodging, it's not just a simple push a direction-go that direction thing anymore. You have to use your momentum, which to me, says more techincal.

So far, the game isn't even OUT. It's a demo that most people haven't even played yet, and already people are like "i think the game is less techical" Lmfao.

I would still find people like this comical if it weren't for the fact that the issue has been beaten to death.
