What'd you expect. They can't have two characters that look almost exactly the same play totally different from each other

I assume Dark Pit will probably have custom moves that separate him from Pit. So basically, Dark Pit, along with the other clones, will be clones by default.
Then again, I may be strawgasping. It would be stupid to not use those custom moves, if the clones do have some, by default.

Well I was thinking of him too when I posed that question, but at least Dr. Mario is still more than a simple re-color, though we didn't get to see Dark Pit's full capabilities. Prior to this game though, I definitely would've said Dr. Mario.

He was pretty obviously thrown in as a last minute addition to give extra characters in the roster. And we still don't know if he'll have differences in customisation yet, or even a final smash.
Also, people are allowed to like clones.
