Anyone want to go ahead and find PT's hitboxes?

Because I doubt I'm the only person that wants to see them.

You can find the thread about getting hitbox stuff set up here.

Anyone interested?

Hmm, maybe Steeler? I know he was working on detailing our hitboxes before this new hitbubble program came out.

On a side note, congrats on the modship!

Thanks Zigsta ;D

All right then, just wanted to make sure that someone was working on it. Contact one of the Workshop people if there actually is something messed up with the loading or whatnot. Good luck guys :)

did you get anywhere with it steeler? i saw..

Known Bugs:
-Dedede, Charizard, Squirtle, and Ivysaur cannot be opened in PSA.
...and just sorta gave up... but it looks like the D3 boards got theirs working, so maybe i was just looking at an old version?

Doing this to PT would be a royal PIA, as you would have to use modded PSA 1.3 by Dantarion. 1.3 is very buggy and on random saves results in files which increase in size by only a few Kb and result on crashing your wii at the character select screen.
so they have a new version that is compatible, but it's really buggy. i'm just going to wait until they release a new version, but anyone else is free to try it if they like.

I might give it a shot. Don't understand the coding language at all, but from the "How to" on the link in the OP, it looks like it's just a matter of sticking "Value X" in "Spot Y". Since it's Thanksgiving, I'll have almost the entire day tomorrow free, so I'll let you know what I've found then. :)

EDIT: Yeah, talked to my brother about it. Appearantly he already uses PSA or whatever it was called for move hacking his textures, so yeah, coding language roadblock eliminated. :D

I like, totally want to see Charizard's dair
And I'd really like to see just how far the kickup for Ivy's Bullet seed goes. I activate that way too often just outside the reach of the kickup...

Ivysaur uses Bullet Seed...
Ivysaur Misses...
Ike uses Eruption...
Critical hit!
It's Super Effective!
Ivysaur got F'ed!

Charizard's d-air and Squirtle's f-tilt would be cool to see. Ivy's d-air would be interesting as well, to see how the hitboxes are arranged

I don't feel like messing with a buggy version of PSA either, so I'll leave it to someone else ^^

i think these would be the most intriguing ones to look at, some aren't just hitbox size since PSA lets you see everything there is to know about an attack:

charizard
fair - just how tiny is that sweetspot?
dair - just how ******** are those hitboxes?
bair - i think this is a pretty underrated move in general. i like using the hitbox below charizard to protect me sometimes, when the opponent thinks i have no options.
utilt, usmash - just how **** are these? i'd also like to see if the wings become intangible (so they aren't hurtboxes during the attack)
grab - how amazing is this?

squirtle
dair - kind of like charizard's, on the last hit
nair - is this move disjointed at all? why isn't it a single continuous hitbox?
ftilt - this move is so good
dsmash - this has disappointing range, i'd like to see just how disappointing it is
usmash - how big is the sweetspot?
grab - how much bigger is this than squirtle's body?

ivysaur
uair, dair, usmash - how big are these? and how tiny is the dair sweetspot?
fsmash - does this have invincibility/intangibility? (don't think there's really a functional difference between the two) and what's the hitbox behind ivysaur like?
grab (again) - just how deceivingly disappointing is the range on this?

Well, I haven't managed to figure it out yet. PSA just flat out refuses to open any .PAC files pertaining to PT. Even tried with the Brawl+ altered .PAC files, just to see what would happen, and nothing gives. Sent a message to the person who put DeDeDe's bubbles together, since they supposedly were supposed to have trouble loading them as well. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Til then, I'll keep tinkering... XD

EDIT: Alright, after talking with the DeDeDe boards, I've got everything working. Gonna have to settle for the newer, buggier version, but so far I havn't had an issue. Whether it will load or not onto my Wii, I have no idea, and probably won't until Friday. If it does load though, I'll try and have at least one of the Pokemon done by this weekend.

I'm currently working on Ivysaur.

Dash Attack are Up-Smash is done and working. I might have everything done either Saturday morning or Sunday evening at this rate. (My week's a little busy)

Btw this is extremely easy to do. It's literally just copying and pasting 1 data line and editing 4 numbers.

so the program's bugs don't really get in the way of the project very much?

Nope. The only problem is that the program to edit PT is out dated. It leaves a lot of guess work in terms of what attack is what and frames.

I have to manually find the last hitbox frame for the glow effect to stop on. If I don't, it lingers until the attack is over/cancelable.

But nothing too hard.

If you're doing Ivysaur, I'll go ahead and work on... Charizard, since alot of his are kinda mysterious as well. Hopefully that'll help things move a little faster... :)

Well I have more done than I thought I would by today, so I'll show you guys some of the ridiculousness that is Ivysaur's range. Took these pics yesterday.

...

^We should use this more....seriously. This hits characters under platforms and ledges.

I'll probably make a thread for all PT's hit boxes when I finish this. (which will probably be tomorrow)

I might make Squirtle's as well since he doesn't have as many multi-hit attacks as Ivysaur. (Which is the hardest part)

Finished the Pac. file for Charizard. Everything checks out, taking screenshots now. I'll post a few teasers once I get them converted and uploaded and everything.

EDIT: Here's some samples. I'll see if I can upload the PAC file inna bit. I'm startving.. :p
EDIT: Here's the .PAC file if anyone wants to look at it. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4UN35RNX

STANDING GRAB

Blaze, if you have the stuff you need to make videos of the hitbubbles, I'll send ya the Charizard pac., and do the Squirtle one as well so you can focus on video-crafting. If not, then anyone else have the stuff to work with replays? Also, I think whoever does Squirtle should start the new topic, and we'll do three posts, one for each pokemon.

I'm kinda confused about dsmash, it can only hit grounded opponents, yet the hitbow is going off the ground too.

This is true. If you look at the flags for the four collision bubbles in the PSA, and compare them to the notes compiles in ther very first portion of this thread ( http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=246651 ), you'll see that these hitbubbles only hit an opponent on the ground. However, I believe they extend a distance above the ground in order to account for uneven terrain, such as Brinstar. I havn't tested this, but I think it's the case.

EDIT: Just looked into it, and I beleive my guess was right. For example, on Distant Planet, if one of your opponents is on one of platforms, and the platform's sunk down all the way, thanks to the giant hitbubbles, you can still hit them with DSmash from below, despite them being on a different level from you. Technically, they are grounded, so the game will register a hit.

Right behind you.
Just a note about Charizard's fsmash: I think his toe has a hitbox or something because I've KOed people hanging onto ledges with it.
Edit: P.S. That's really good stuff to know about Charizard's dsmash, Chuckles. Thanks.

i finished a squirtle pac file but i can't get it to work in my wii...downloaded the charizard pac and i can't get that to show up either. :\ what am i doing wrong?

1. move pac file into sd card directory F:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\FitPokeLizardon (or PokeZenigame or whatever). file name is FitPokeLizardon.pac

2. create gct code file with file replacement code 3.5.1, name it RSBE01.gct, place in F:\codes.

3. load gecko 1.9.1 in homebrew

4. play brawl

File name needs to be FitPokeZenigame.pac

Folder need to be called PokeZenigame not FitPokeZenigame. "Fit" is only for the files themselves.

On a side note, I've been procrastinating finishing Ivysaur. (I've been Ganondorfing it up in Melee too much)
I'll get it done probably tomorrow.

You're quite welcome! :)
Here's Charizards F-Smash for ya.
FIRST HIT

SECOND HIT

I didn't try angling it when I took these, as I'm pretty sure his FSmash doesn't do that. But, as you can see, the hitbox is well about the ground. Only thing I can think of is perhaps their hurtbox extended above the stage, or they tried to get up at the same time, and you missed it in Charizards awesome Smash animation. :p

Yeah, the only thing I can think of is what Blaze said, is making sure the file name is accurate. If you could upload the Squirtle .PAC, I can try to open it and see if it works for me.

I was able to open it just fine. So far as I can tell, the files and such you specified were exactly the same as mine, so I'm not entirely certain. What exactly is the issue? Is it not loading/Freezing, or what?

it's just not loading. no freezing thus far or anything, and the other hacks like debug pause work fine. it's just the hitboxes not showing up.

Aight. You are using Down Taunt beforehand, right? Down Taunt is the trigger to activate the yellow orb for the hitboxes.

Hahaha, that's brilliant. :p

I checked all the moves while I had it up. You have the wrong animation for Uair, but the rest seemed sound. (And to your credit, it's a pretty epic animation. :D) It might also be useful to put in things such as the Get-Up and Ledge attacks. Waterfall and Withdraw should also be doable, though I'm not sure about Watergun, charged or uncharged. Looks good though, overall. Utilt is scarier than I thought. o.O
