You need to get your SHL down. Without short hopping to reduce the after lag of the laser, you can leave yourself open for some serious punishment! (in this case, waveshining)

You also seem to run in to a lot of your opponent's moves, and try to fsmash him a little too much. Also, try making an approach while you perform the SHL, instead of just sitting in one spot while doing so.

When the Fox is recovering to the stage, you seem to jump off the edge pointlessly, making yourself vulnerable to shine spikes. The best thing to do is to just grab onto the edge, wait for your opponent to try and make it back, and do something necessary if needed. Such as:

  • Fast fall off ledge --> jump up --> down aerial to spike
  • Fall off edge --> jump up --> bair to K.O
And there's a lot more that you can do with Falco! Mmhmm!

Oh and, you need moar side b --> down smash :p

Basically everything you guys are saying I've already improved on and do. These vids are from like 2 weeks ago, but I find I improve everyday =P.

Edit: Minus Adi's post. I do need to master my Shffls.

There is quite literally a page length post I could do to offer help. However, instead of boring you, I'll suggest to do what I did.

1. Play ALL the time. This helps a lot. Especially if you are playing with people near your level, you will find you guys will all get better together, and constantly have equally matched peers around you.

2. Watch videos ALL the time. I studied countless matches and combo videos. Every time I tried to working things I saw, until I had strengthened my game and began to develop my own style with Falco. Seeing what other people are doing is the best way to learn in my opinion.

Thanks!
Let the studying begin!

That should be the axiom on every character really....just leave place that says "falco" as "your character here".

Yay, two more videos to comment on! :p
What was with the long gap between the uploads, though? Anyway,

  • Match 3/4 Start: Why did you just sit there shielding? You could've easily pulled something off while that Fox was jumping about. Best approach for a situation like that would be a SHL, I suppose. You really just left yourself open for a ton of grabs to come... which is exactly what happened.
  • 00:13: Invisibility frames would've been useful there. Also some DI and tech would've helped you get out of those blasted Fox utilts.
  • 00:30: Ew.
  • 00:50: Nice mindgame. Decent edgeguarding could've finished the Fox's stock.
  • 01:15: egruntz Coooooooombooooooo! Nice :p
  • 01:24: That was nice!
  • 01:47: Nice way to avoid a shine spike.
  • 02:30: Alright! Finally some pillaring! Try some short hop pillaring with a Fox at a low percentage!
And, that's all I've got for the third video.
I'm not really a pro with Falco or anything, but I don't have to be good to know how to be. ~ SP.
I'll watch and critique the fourth video later!
