Anyone know how this Technique was done??

So I watched some videos from VGBootCamp a while back and I noticed one of the guys did what was known as a Aerial Cancel from the Ledge. Here's the video:

Even though this happened before the 1.0.4 update, it's still possible to do now since I did it sometimes by accident. I even tried to recreate this in Training mode but I would RARELY do it. So anyone figured out how to do this? I would definitely like to know how because this seems very useful!

It looks to me like he let go and jumped up the perfect height so he landed immediately, as he had no flash indicating any sort of invincibility

Well you can see the little circle from the second jump so we can be sure that he jumped after letting go of the ledge.
What we don't see is the little flash that shows up when you let go of the ledge. This can mean two things
1. He jumped one frame after he let go of the ledge
2. We couldn't see it because the video quality is ****

We can also see the dust animation you get after landing. Her ftilt animation doesn't have that.
He never goes over the stage as well. He lands as soon as Rosa has stage hight.

Don't have more right now. I'm trying around in 0,3x in training but I can't reproduce it.

People know about it. But I personally don't know how to do it.

You might want to discuss the technique over there. Although, the thread only notes B-attacks that cancel vertical momentum. The GIF above and stuff you posted is clearly an A-attack. I don't know if this technique disappeared in 1.0.4 however... but the "B-Variation" exists for sure on the WiiU.
