Anyone in Eastern MA?

I am a long-time competitive fighting gamer... I have played Melee fairly competitively, but never at any high level. I went to a few tournaments, nothing outstanding, etc.

I got Brawl, and have been looking for people nearby to play competitively with. I'm in Lowell MA right now - my place is perfect for hosting, but logistics come later.

I can't find any threads on Eastern MA, although I find it hard to believe there's no scene out of Framingham / Boston (why so few people put locations in topic titles I have no idea), so if there's a thread im missing, whatever.

I detest playing online - the delay makes it a totally different game. Fun, but I want to play competitively, and online play has nothing to do with that.

!!!! Siyko, you are still alive! It's good to see you are still around after all these years (you are the same Siyko who came to the RI smashfest, right?) You and your buddies were some of the most enjoyable smashers I've met, and it would be great to have you guys over again sometime. It seems that brawl is off to a crawl in the RI/CT/MA region, but I'm trying to remedy that by running an event sometime soon. I will be running a mini tournament for sure, but if I get permission from URI, there is a good chance that I can run a much larger event.

I'll be sure to keep you updated, but if at any time you want to come for another visit, I'll see if I can gather the local players and arrange a mini tournament. Maybe we could get KoreanDJ and some of the other MA players to come too.

Hey, Yeah that was us at the RI tourney. The crew is mostly together, although we all graduated so now we're kinda spread off. I'm sure we could all make a tournament though.

It seems hard to find brawl comp, but I'd love to get something together with the preivous posters here. It seems KoreanDJ goes to school at UML, which is like 1 mile from my apt... luck of the draw!

Give me a PM sometime if you'd like to arrange a small gathering - just an afternoon of smash or something - you're in RI I assume unknown?

This WE is St Pats, and next weekend is Easter, but how does the Friday of next weekend? Location can vary depending on who can make it - but my place is open.

Heh, well if you live that close to Dan (Koreandj) you should ask him to play.

Yep, I'm still in RI, but an event next weekend would be good for me, especially since I have spring break this week. We should plan an event for sure. Whichever location is more likely to draw players sounds like the best choice to me.

Wow, I never realized there was another smash crew in RI! I'll be sure to keep you guys updated, but I think we'll have an event occuring next weekend, and it would be great to meet some fellow RI players. At the very least, we should try to play online sometime. I can only play at my friends house, but feel free to PM me and we can try to set up a game. There should be hardly any lag since we live close by.

This is not a tournament or huge gathering, just a small thing to meet each other and whatnot. We'll prolly order pizza or something at some point.

As for the number of people, unfortauntely I only have one TV/wii/game, but I have a big place, so I could easily make room for 2 more setupts - let me know if you can bring anything and I will reply to let you know if it is needed.
