I'm trying to figure out how I can get this game at midnight. Gamestop/EBgames might have a midnight launch but the only games my store ever did that for is Halo 2 and GTA Vice City so I doubt they would do it again for SSBB.

I was also thinking of Walmart but I really don't know how they operate when it comes to video games. Do they usually sell games at midnight of launch?

I'm sure many other people on this forum are also planning to get SSBB at midnight. Post your thoughts.

:)

I'm gonna pick it up at my Gamestop walk in.. probably after school. Or if my bro has nothing to do I'll ask him to do it for me.

They had a lot of copies of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade like the day after it came out. Pretty sure they'll have Brawl. If not then... ****

I'm not going at midnight to make sure I've got a copy. I'm getting it at midnight so I can get all the characters crazy fast so all my friends can come over and multiplayer all day.

Call me crazy <_<

I'm sorry that no one has answered your question (please read the topics before posting), but my best bet would be a 24 hour Walmart. I would do that, but there are none near me. I don't know about stores staying open and having a midnight release though (ie. gamestop, ebgames, the bunch). I also would like to hear others thoughts about this, but sadly they are not posting regarding the given topic.

Hmm.. I mostly just read the title of the topic and skimmed his first post.

Though I doubt a game like this will be a midnight release. They might though, Gamestop and Wal-Mart have the highest chances since I think they were the only big industry ones to do so... Not sure of Best Buy and Circuit City did..

Isn't that what preordering is for? Besides,I don't think there will be a super insane mad ruh for it anyway.I'll tell you how I plan on getting it though.I'll just mosey on in,the last copy of brawl on the wall, and some big eyed little kid pointing to his papa that that's the game he wants.I'll show the clerk my preorder slip and get the game. Then I'll proceed to gouge out the kids eyes with my thumb and leave the store.

Believe me, the actual time that I buy the game is not even going to matter that much. Considering that final exams are less than two weeks after the game releases, I'm definitely sure that there'll be time-constraints for me. I won't be one of the lucky ones who can grab the game at midnight and play it for hours on end with no worries. However, the good news is that after my videogame downtime/exams, there will be Winter Break, which means almost three straight weeks of free time.

That three-week period will be my testing-ground for the game, pretty much, especially when it comes to the online mode (which I can't wait to try, that is, if the game is online).

In all, what I'm really getting at is that in my personal case, odds are I'll get the game as soon as possible. That being said, it's not like I'll die or anything if I can't obtain or play the game within its first week.

Preordering makes them save a game for you not let you get it at midnight.

Man I would be up for getting that game at midnight, but I don't think any store is open that late or even if they were like a 24 hour walmart, I don't think they would start selling them then.

Edit: Just remember you can't get the game till December 4th anyways.

I'm just gonna drive by the Best Buy after school if I have a car by then. If not, I'll beg my parents to let me drive their car down there to get it.

Game Crazy will probably do a midnight launch, at least the ones here are (I don't know if you live near one or not). They are already taking pre-orders also. I bet Gamestop will also do a midnight launch, afterall, it is probably one of the biggest Nintendo titles in a long time, and the biggest for the Wii.

There are 2 GameStops in my area, 3 EB Games also.

1 GameStop in a 10 minute walk, another in a 10-15 minute bus ride.
2 EB Games in my mall, one is EBX, same crap. :D
and the other is down the street from GameStop.

So, I love livin' in the city of Miami.

EDIT: Also, my GameStop usually gets the game a day or two before.

Always has been with my reservations.

I went at midnight to get my GCN... Then I was tortured knowing that I couldn't play it until December 25th, lol.

I'll wait until Christmas to buy mine. I may have to avoid these forums after December 3rd... >_<

The gouging is necessary, I presume?

I preordered the game, but it comes out during my semester finals, so my mom is going to pick it up while I am testing, and I am going to just stare at it for 3 days until my final exams are over, and then rip it open and not talk to anyone all Christmas break!

Edit: So many errors in my typing!

April 22nd, when D/P hit stores, my local Wal-Mart had plenty of copies. They were even selling the game with a free case for $35 bucks, or you could buy the game by itself for $40.

Anyway, I'm not gonna get Brawl at midnight (I'd probably fall asleep in the store), but I will certainly pre-order it.

Depends whether the stores around me will have a midnight launch or not... if they do, definitely and then skip the next day of school =D, otherwise, I'll probably just go afterschool.
