Anyone feel like you're losing your consistency?

I feel like my previous play style went down the tubes.
I barely use my missiles at all anymore...and my bomb spamming is just plain spamming.

I don't feel the sense of satisfaction anymore...the spike doesn't help me feel better.
Hell, I my d-airs are too wasteful now.

Has anyone's Samus play style changed in the last 2 months?
How can I go back to how it was?

I find I'm winning consistently. I dominate the local scene. Of course I'm just playing the local scrubs, haven't been to a real tourney in forever.

Samus' new style is different then before. If you want the old one again go back to Melee (I'm serious, plenty of people still play it - including myself) or pick up a different character. ROB actually sorta almost feels like Melee's Samus almost kinda. Spams dsmash, strong projectile game, excellent recovery, looks like a robot - just like Melee's Samus!

When Melee came out I was really bummed at how they nerfed her dair and bair. Over all she ended up being much better, and I became not only accustomed to her new style but quickly came to prefer it. I'm not expecting it to happen with Brawl's Samus... I don't really like any Brawl character's style as much as I did Melee Samus'. So if/when I'm jonesing for some Melee Samus I just go back and play Melee.

I honestly don't mind the new Samus, though. If I'm playing Brawl I may as well stick with my favorite lady. *bzzt* *bzzt* *bzzt* /dtilt /samustaunt

PS: don't spam bombs. If you want satisfying spam Samus honestly is one of the best options in Brawl. Just press the purple button when you're in the air a lot, and make sure you're in the air a lot.

Hey, Darkhart. I had fun brawling with you today. I don't know about you, but I felt that from the last battle that we had prior to this one today, you improved. The way you used those Bombs today showed me that Bombs are just as important as the other armaments that Samus wields. I had fun brawling with you. If anything, you have shown me that I need to improve more with my Samus. Don't give up or think that your style has gone down. It hasn't.

I'm glad to see you again, by the way. ^_^

lol, complete misunderstanding.
I don't care about how she plays, I'm talking about how I play.
I don't need advice on spaming. I hate both missile and z-air spaming.
Bombs are the neglected part of any Samus...they can gimp a jump and great mindgames.

The only time I spam the others is against a non- projectile character to keep distance.
My wins are well deserved.

The thing is I don't find winning satistfying anymore.

What, really?!
well, the thing was I knew you were aiming to chain me in a screw attack.
My priority was to stay on the ground.
But if you say so...

And yes, those were great...but the spikes weren't as great as they were suppose to be.
I look forward to take you on in the future.

Oh. Well, uhh, nope none of that over here either. Props on holding your own with Samus without zair or missile spam.

I'll probably need to see someone use bombs well IRL before it really sinks in. I just can't see how they'd be useful. Whenever I see them used in videos I keep thinking the opponent could/should have been able to punish it.

You did spike me at least twice, I believe. You did it with Samus, but the second time I returned. When you played as Ike, you brought me down. Still, you have to keep in mind that a one-on-one battle is different than multi-man. In a one-on-one, both persons are focused on what his/her opponent is going to do next. I knew you would try to spike me again, so I did what I could to get out of the way. You're fighting against a human player, if not someone who also mains Samus.

Honestly, I am not so great at spiking my opponents with Samus. Sometimes I'll try to find an advantage. For example, if Snake is returning with his Up+B, it's easy to spike him. Everyone differs, and every match is not the same. What this allows you to do is improve and learn what works and what does not. I think they call that a "meta-game." I'm trying to figure out how I can improve with Samus, and it's really not that easy for me.

thats cause your playing brawl and not melee, anyway, I only started using samus in brawl so I dont really have a problem, but I know what you mean, my brawl Link isnt so good, honestly he's like another character, again, I think the same may be able to be said about samus's change.

okay, no one understands me...
I don't care about melee to brawl transitions, I'm talking about how it was when I first got brawl.

I'm trying to get to the point where I AM winning consistently, so no I'm not relating either. I did get tired of brawl for awhile though, but then when I found Samus was being treated like a joke by others I got back into it.

Hey Darkheart I know what you mean. there was a point in time that I switched up my Samus game without even knowing, and I started playing differently in general. Im not sure why that happens, but I know there are thigs that I would focus on ao I just swithced back to it and picked up from there. Maybe you were having an off-time?
