Lets list our Pros and Cons from what we know. Mine first. And this is mostly opinion (although I'm sure some people agree with some cons).
Okay, I still fully intend to get this game, I just won't like it as much as Melee. Melee had one thing, and one thing only that disappointed me (two things, but I didn't realise the second one until a month later). It had no Meta Knight. But it had Mewtwo, which made up for it (secondly, Zelda sucks compared to Sheik, even the COM seemed to know this, as it choose to mostly always play as Sheik).
This game, having Meta Knight comfirmed from the start, as well as adding Snake and Pit to the mix, made me want this game, bad. A year later, the dojo opens up, and...lots of good and bad comes from it.
One thing that I need to get out of the way, because it's Nintendo's fault, and not the game. The lack of online chat sucks. You won't be able to chat with your friends online while you bash them around, or ask your team mate to help set the enemy up for a Meteor Smash or anything. Anyway, Nintendo's fault, not Brawl.
Okay, now where should we start? Characters I guess. My personal pros and cons of certain characters.
Pros: Meta Knight, Snake, and Pit
Cons: Zero Suit Samus, Peach, Red, and lack of Deoxys.
Ike, I could care less for, as I hate the gameplay of the Fire Emblem games. And, from that series, no one can top Marth to me.
Pros: Meta Knight is my top favorite character in the Nintendo universe. Followed by Mewtwo. Meta Knight needed to be here since Melee, so it's about **** time. Snake, I honestly believe with the humor of his games, he fits in here. I love Snake, and his games anyway. As for Pit, I hate Pit. Captain N made me hate Pit. I never played the game until after Pit was confirmed, and as it turns out...I hate the game to. Why is Pit a Pro then? He looks so **** awesome.
I'll have to list the Cons seperately.
Peach: One word. Toad. The new picks kinda prove to me that Toad was left out again. Nintendo has sort of screwed him every since they turned him into an
entire race. What happened to the Mario Bros 2 Toad, Wario Woods Toad, Mario Kart Toad that we all used to love? On the other hand, Peaches dress looks amazing. I just hope they fix her voice. She's had the more terrible voice since Mario Sunshine. Her and Bowser for that matter. Give us back Bowser's Melee roars.
Red: Now I admit, I wanted this to happen (mainly in the form of May or Dawn, just two cute girls), but not like this. I wanted the character to do the direct fighting, and use Pokemon as B moves. This just...arg. I guess I COULD say this at least makes Charizard playable. No I can't, considering we are forced to switch away from Charizard often.
Deoxys: Deoxys I could care less about. I prefer Lucario. My cousin complains ALOT about the lack of Deoxys though, so in my opinion, alot of you must agree with this.
Zero Suit Samus: I'm sure we can all agree that we got screwed here. We thought we'd have a fully playable character, and we get screwed. It's obvious Smash Balls will be rare, so we will rarely get to Transform into her. And when we die, I'm sure we turn back into Normal Samus. Only way I can see ZZS being playable, if we have nothing but Smash Balls turned on, and set to Very High. And even then, the computer, or other players will abuse their Final Smashes. On top of that, many of us like playing without items to be more, as some call it, 'Professional' (not my word, but it works). This means ZZS will never be playable.
Now, lets move onto How to Play.
Standard Combo's: The ability to simply hold down the button for combo's gives me mixed reactions. Great for me because I can do it easier now...bad for me because so can they...
Footstool Jump: This one I find 100% useless and annoying.
Tether Recovery: Why did they show us Zero Suit Samus doing this? She's not playable or anything >.>
Game Modes now.
Names: Okay this is bad, very, very bad. Why? Because they still only allow four letters for a name. What the hell should I call myself, Shar? Sark? Names in Melee, and Brawl, are just stupid unless they allow up to 6 or more letters for names. At least 5. Many people can come up with more 5 letter names than four...
Stickers: This...seems boreing to me. Otherwise I guess it's okay if it only appears in a certain mode. I'd hate to be destracted by it and chaseing after it every time. This will be much worse if these replace trophies.
Lets skip items and Stages for now and skip to music.
So far, I hate most of what we've been given. I so far only like Battlefeid fully, a part of Ridley's theme, and just the Saria's Song in Zelda's music. The Kid Icarus music is okay. I hate all the rest.
While I do not play with Items, I like most of what we have so far. I always hated Creates and Barrels, so thats not new to me.
Assist Trophies: I was pissed when I first saw Samurai Goroh's name, but thats only because I first, I assumed he was being named as a playable character, and I did not want him. After this, I was careful with jumping to conclusions, and pretty much feared seeing names of characters I actually like being turned into this.
Otherwise I love the idea of Assist Trophies.
And finally, stages.
Honestly, I mostly love all confirmed stages so far but a few.
Bridge of Eldin: Judgeing from the Zelda music we've heard, and the layout of the stage, I have a strong feeling I'll hate this level.
Rumble Falls: Ice Climber scrolling levels like these, I hate them straight to hell. And honestly, out of ALL the settings from the Donkey Kong Country series, don't you think they could finally use something besides a tired old jungle? Gangplank Gallion? Crocodile Isle? Anything? Same for Yoshi Story for that matter...I'm sick of that **** level.
Skyworld: I hate this for the soul reason that all platforms are destructible, leaving us little to nothing to stand on.
Castle Siege: The top part looks great, the middle part looks boring, and why the hell is the bottom part such a secret? Is it worse than the middle part? And since your forced from the top part earlier...unless you somehow return to the top part and rotate between the three parts, I won't like this level much at all.
Smashville: I don't hate this level yet, and it looks amazing, but so far, it looks too flat and small, with only one smaller flat platform. I don't think I'll have fun with this level.
Okay, thats my rant that I spent an hour on. What are yours? What do you believe will be your major pros and cons?
EDIT: Wow. I copied and pasted this from a wordpad, so it looks kinda screwed up. I'll fix it in a second.
