Just playin'. <3

But seriously M2K, you should put in a good word with Sepso about getting Melee on the circuit. Then we'd have some hype to carry Smash for a good 30-40 years.

The DC smash scene died like 2 years ago........aka they only ever had like 2-3 players at most

Everything else happens around D.C........MD/VA

I never said it was virtually dead. That was Tantalus. lol >_>

I honestly think if Melee and Brawl were both on the MLG circuit, Melee would be significantly more popular, even if the prize amount was a fourth of what Brawl's would be. Melee attendance is staying strong at the national level, and that's after fighting through:
1. Almost 10 years
2. Brawl being released
3. Brawl being put on the MLG circuit
4. Having to be played on CRT television sets

4. i think you meant LCD

Everyone comes out of hiding for nationals guys

Brawl still gets large amounts at locals everywhere, melee is very small comparatively

I found it kinda funny cause a few hours after looking at this topic, I saw Mew2King posting in Tournament Discussion begging Brawlers to register for MLG because apparently they haven't been getting enough people to do another season. >.>

Brawl will definitely die soon, imo. I think melee will last longer, and tbh I think it will get bigger too.

And I think Wenbo thought Tantalus called melee "dead bones" LOL. As in, bones that are dead, haha.

This thread made me lol, 10/10.

lol melee is so much more superior
Apex. M2K vs Brood. I wanted to see what all the buzz was about with the Japanese players being "Really good" when really they all played as gay and campy as everyone else.
I thought I saw M2K time out Brood on Rainbow Cruise? He got the lead, then ran away for 8 minutes?
Then Brood did the same thing pretty much n Delfino and won the set. Got the lead and camped a ton.

Honest question. Do brawl players not get pissed off and frustrated when people play like this?

This is now a brawl vs melee thread.

for MLG Raleigh....apparently their local scene has barely any in attendance plus NC smash scene in general is small

This has been said for like the last 2 years and melee is not getting bigger...only nationals seem to be getting all the melee crowd :/

I'm actually moving to DC temporarily for work. I might check out the MLG thing, even though I know it's going to be the most bottom-of-the-barrel unmanly players I could ever possibly encounter. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone who isn't a total dork about frame data and matchup ratios or whatever crap you guys like to babble on about. I miss the early days when everyone just played whatever charater they thought looked cool.

Also, to keep the troll ball bouncin, MELEE SUCKS. Waaah, blocking is useful now, waaah I don't want to learn a new system, waaah I need an actual strategy to attack successfully.

Tant stop with the melee is dead stuff, we want to promote the growth of both communities not degrade one community.
People in the community that post negativity towards the other game provides flame wars.
These two pages were about melee players defending there case.
Why can't we grow as a community together?
LOLOLOLOL

Bones actually had a solid point that melee would be a great addition but I highly doubt they would add an older game to the circuit.

Melee isn't dead, but it should be. Sort of like how MK isn't banned yet despite being obviously broken.

I'm just ready for the next smash bros. Melee completely burned me out after seven years, and Brawl is just...not tested so good. And the TERRIBLE rules the people on this website came up with don't help, either.

lol next smash bros? Thats like a long time from now(4-5 years maybe?). You're not only going to have to wait for another nintendo console, but also like a year or two for them to make it cause their never release titles.

Melee and Brawl were both released close to launch, and Melee only missed it by a few months. Anyway, we got two Mario games on a console for the first time since the NES - don't see why we can't get a new Smash. There's also the 3DS to consider.
