Having Zero Suit Samus as my secondary, I've got to say this is a well-made guide to know that people who don't easily fall for flowchart playstyles would use. Hope to apply it if I ever see another decent ZSS player in For Fun/Glory. This character takes a lot of skill for me to use and playing against a decent ZZS player doesn't frustrate me at all. It's more about Captain Falcon, Diddy, and the rest of the nuisances you know about, making me very nervous and all. From today on, fo' shame if anyone still uses the "Zero Skill Spamus" joke.

I may not be happy that Zero Suit Samus, out of all the popular characters used for tournaments that are more accessible and easier for people to just pick up, was chosen to have a guide against her and featured on Smashboards, but if people need it, then it's understandably fine. Here's to some tougher fights!

while you have gotten the more important pieces of most players strategies using ZSS, the problem I see about your video almost focuses specifically those aspects. it's also worth noting that Flip Jump's head stomp triggers only when ZSS is in your character's vicinity. fighters with a far reaching UpSmash, like Marth, Link, and even ZSS herself, can intercept Flip Jump.

ZSS has greater mobility in the air, and her ground attacks aren't lacking either, granted. but most top players I've seen tend to rely on her aerials more and use ground attacks as attempts to shake off a persistent target. even Down Smash is used only as a hard read to a KO attempt at the higher levels.
I'll admit that video was somewhat rushed, and I left out stuff like Zair, and what you can do with Flip Jump offstage and on the ledge. Thanks for the feedback though. I really do appreciate what you have to say. :)

One little trick I like to do is flip jump while still holding onto the edge. If done right you can meteor smash them, and while they are still in the ground you can DI fall towards them and combo into an Up-B. This combo can be done any time you meteor smash them into the ground, as long as they stay grounded long enough for the set up.

As a ZSS main, I count on people rolling back onto the stage...

Either way, I can say that Spot-dodging her grab isn't always the best option especially if she reads it and goes for a pivot grab...ZSS is a character that does well with good mix-ups and mixing up yourself can make it harder for her to punish...

This should go without saying but don't projectile spam, ZSS is my personal counter to any projectile spammer...

Definitely, her flip jump and agility make it very easy to move around almost anything.

Haha and another sees the light. I almost feel bad when I play Kirby's who don't know to crouch. Basically invulnerable to ZSS except for her down tilt.

What do you mean?
Which part? I'm saying bravo to you for learning Kirby's trump card against ZSS, because ZSS cannot touch crouched Kirby with grab, punch, and dash. Only down-a and down-tilt would work. But Kirby can crouch so quickly, ZSS will make a N/A move and allow you to punish.

Check out this vid I just uploaded through the new Wii U upload feature. It has some examples of tricky/neat ZSS moves. I was just messing around and being silly, definitely not my best, but still won easy :smirk:

the di part is what a tip guide should have, but roll and spot dodge the grab? i like the stage choice part and how to di on certain moves, but rolling and spot dodge grabs is something that makes the guide seem less serious

Spotted a sonic/yoshi player
She takes zero skill. Hence the name. Same with the rest of nicknames we come if that are usually grown around as jokes and not as outright insults.

Aerodrome kurogane is obviously a Zelda sis.

i'm pretty annoyed at how whiny the community is, yeah. as soon as a character's good "x needs to b nerfed!" "x is braindead" "x -ResidentSleeper"
it's gotten old really fast
It's cute that you assume someone making a (not so) witty pun on her name absolutely means he wants her nerfed.
Seriously. grow up.

While I get that many of you here jokingly say the funny phrase "Zero Skill Spamus", there are many out there that say it seriously. To those, I usually say if they have such little skill, why are you getting salty and/or losing to someone with no skill?

Again, you must be confusing her with Villager/Link/Sonic/Yoshi/Lucario/IProbablyMissedSomeone....
Specially with the "Spamus" part that is usually attached to the nickname.

Hey now people...

Pretty much every character on the roster is guilty of having players spamming their share of attacks (obviously some more than others)...

but here's the thing if you can't deal with the spamming, that's your problem, because then the spam is working and your opponent has no reason to adjust their tactics...If anything it should be easier for you to counter their attacks since they become predictable, and those who gain the habit of spamming will not adjust so easily, thus putting the match in your favour...

Hmm.. I'll keep what you said in mind for future videos. Thank you for the feedback.
