Hey Fellas, Kinzer the Hedgehog here, and this is an announcement thread.

So I have a guide in the making back at my home boards, and I need your inputs.

Basically, I want you to tell me everything about Yoshi in 2vs2 Brawls, and more specifically how does our favorite Dragon/Dragoon-Turtle/thingimajig works with Sonic.

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=205101

That's the link to the guide. Skim through the OP, get an idea of what I'm looking for, help me theorize the team in my head, and help me get as close to accurate as humaly (*cough* manimally *cough) possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

See ya there!

Also Mmac, personal conversation, if you have any hard feelings towards the Sonic boards, please don't make the generalization on all of us, you're in a sanctuary if you come visit my thread, and I will be as welcoming as I can.

:yoshi: Nice, nice.

Yoshi is awesome in teams. :D

Unfortunately, he relies a lot on teamwork (or having an abusable partner). Sonic doesn't need either of those things, I find, but it might just be my playstyle. D:

I'll be interested to see where your thread goes with respect to this particular team. I'll be watching. ^__^

i'm imagining egg roll and sonic spinning all over the place and it sounds interesting heh...
well for team attack off...i'm unsure honestly if this would make a good team though, almost doubt

Really doubt it as well. Yoshi needs a partner that is a tank.

*agrees

I partnered with a sonic twice in tourns and it didn't go to well. He really needs someone who can take a lot of hits.

:yoshi: Oooooh, this is interesting. I usually think of Yoshi as the tank in teams.

Who would you guys recommend as the tank teammate for Yoshi besides, like, Snake?

Maybe King Dedede? R.O.B. might not be good enough. Samus might not work, either, even though she's better than most at successful tanking and surprise KOs. Maybe Donkey Kong?

Hm. Interesting.

Unfortunately this is with the tournament standards applied... meaning no ballin' chaos. :(

You'd be surprised how much of a stock tank Sonic can be, what with his recovery and his elusiveness and whatnot.

It's fine though, I'm used to people not totally getting down with the Hedgehog. :/

from your experience, maybe you two just didn't go well or something, but I would prefer if we just theorize the best-case scenarios. I'm working on a guide, I have to give good and bad stats.

I won't do it again.

I've teamed with one to, but I dislike his movement patterns in teams. Because I like to be able to be really aggressive, then all of the sudden cow down to be egg spamming. Sonic runs so much that you have to be aggressive alot.

And FTR, double Yoshi's is god. Chaco+DarkL=BAMF'ers. We had like stunts pulling that were sick. Side by side Uairs was better than sex.

Do Yoshi's just not like to play aggresively or what's the matter?

Sonic can play a campy style, you've heard how people complain we "spam, camp, stall, etc.", right?

Personally I am the Sonic that does like to move, but I can adjust... I have to, like when I play against a G&W.

I play passive-aggressively. I wait for my opponent to make a mistake then I strike hard. Trust me, when I get into my aggressive state I'm just completely on you. It's kind of confusing to do that during doubles, though.

Eh, well you can't go nuts in doubles, if you do, this might be the end result...

...Alright but seriously, I guess one of them can play the more passive of the two, unless they're focusing on their own target, which is usually how 2vs2s go anyway.

One opponent for each player, you know?

That is the most epic 2v2 I have ever seen. And yea Id think both of them have a hard time killing.
