No, I believe he was indeed referring to the Animal Crossing Human. Note that he mentions that you'll be able to fish, use an axe, etc. just like in the game. You only play as the main human character, what else could he be speaking of?

But anyway, I'm all for it if this is really true and unique. I've been kinda iffy on the idea of an Animal Crossing character, but I think I've grown to accept that it is possible and could be unique.

Thank you.

Anyway, I guess until this can be proven as legit, this should be considered fake. :ohwell:

I don't like the AC Human because he/she has the least personality out of ALL the characters.
but thats the thing: the AC human is supposed to be you, thus, you kinda "pretend" it has your personality. which is why AC human has a blank personality in-game.

heck, it would be cool if brawl was compatible with animal crossing wii, so that the AC wii human character would reflect the look of the brawl AC human character, and the villagers would occasionally talk about your smash bros matches XP.

that wouldn't work if you had a brother/sister/roommate.

I still want the link...to at least translate it correctly (if it was translated by someone quickly or something...)

The character would be called "I" then, or in Japanese "boku" or "watashi"....
What would his smash name be?...

RESIDENT!....or VILLAGER!....ugh

It won't be Animal Crosser because the game in Japan is called Animal Forest and it sure as heck won't be Animal Forester.

You know...the word Animal Crossing refers to the station you get off to enter the village...like a Railroad Crossing station...There are no animals being crossed :p

If they already made a moveset and such for the AC human, why couldn't they just apply it to Tom Nook? While he isn't my favorite AC character, he is the best out of the main three animals and is sure as hell better than the human.

Because Tom Nook isn't the actual main character of the series?

Who cares, he's the best choice
And what qualifies him as such? All he does is sell things, at least the Human character did more things than he ever could do, even though both are limited. When making a fighting game like Brawl, you have to consider who has potential and who doesn't. Honestly, the Human character has a lot more potential move-wise than Tom Nook would.

exactly. you wouldn't add happy mask salesman instead of link because he has "more personality" would you?
No, but anyone who plays Animal Crossing liked the game because of the animals you interact with, not your main character. Although, I must say, my character had quite a snazzy Fall Plaid shirt. Which wasn't in Wild World. Needless to say, I was quite displeased!

For a fighting game, personality of a character is important, especially if a story is involved.

First off, we don't know nor do I think all characters will appear in the Emmisary. Second, Nook isn't any better equipped for this anyway: "famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories, shouldering their unique burdens".

Nook is way more of a side character than a PC, not to mention the fact that he appears in the backround points towards his exclusion.

Ahem.

"The Adventure mode also emphasizes character development. You’ll see many famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories, shouldering their unique burdens... It’s really something you won’t see anywhere else."
Hey, the AC character's backstory could be about how stupid you have to be to..move to a new town with no place to live. Then trying to buy a house with 1,000 Bells ^_^

and what's lame about it? please enlighten us.
I didn't say "Blerb think's its LAME."

My opinion, like it or not, (and put more civil.) is that it's disapointing news that AC is taking up a roster slot that could have gone to a game / char that I would personally like better.

Whatever.. Really it's weither a character is combat effective that will determine just how much I like him or her. But for now... LAME!

Have you ever played the game or did you just think it was stupid so didn't bother before you made your own opinion that you bothered to post?

I LOVED Animal Crossing, but I still think it's lame that a character is gonna be in Brawl Psycho. But since one probably is, I don't see the point in talking about it when there are other things to discuss.

I didn't think it's lame. I don't now.

AC deserves it, and if they 'stole' someone's deserved spot, Sakurai would add them anyways. it's not like there's a set amount of characters, he can have as many as he wants.

Ironically I bought a used copy of Fire Emblem for the GC to check out where Ike's coming from.

But no, I haven't. And yes that's part of the reason I'm not interested in seeing an AC character in the game. I realize how that sounds and sorry if I come off as stuborn. I didn't play it originally because it didnt look interesting aaand maybe that makes me bias!

Truth is I don't know how popular AC really is, although i can gather that it's a successful title for nintendo and don't blame for wanting to add it to Brawl, nor am I suprised.

But also, in a very technical way Sakurai might have been wanting to add some character towards the end of development that he's had in mind for some time, one that I might be psyched about, but has been working on other characters (AC Toon) and has run out of time to tweak poke and prod it so he exludes it.

p.s. Do I seem a little selfish? Lol. ;D
