so since i dont seem to have time to smash against anyone with some skill i find myself ****ing around with coms alot.

i was practicing uthrow>shinebair(grounded)
i got pretty good at it, but only when there was no DI, when the fox went straight up and came straight down.
i also realized that i have to hit with the very top of the shine hitbox to get the right trajectory for the bair to connect.

so my question is...
say for other shineairs(grounded or not) does the angle at which the shine connects determine if the kick connects?
angles?
speed?
timing?
a mix of all?
i just want thoughts/tips here :]

i really hope i spelled angle right... its angle right? not angel?

I use the corner of the shine for the Bair to connect. I don't do it grounded.

Pretty much always try to hit with the top corner of the shine. The only real exception is for something like running shine->nair or dair or turnaround bair, where horizontal positioning is what matters.

I just put a big fat ganon with 0.5 damage ratio and lvl 9 handicap as player 3 so he spawns at the top platform on yoshis, then you can just keep practicing turn around which is the troubling part.

It's all about positioning the shine, C-stick really helps to you need a quick right thumb but I find that easier then doing all the quarter sticking with the control stick so you can aerial with Z,A.

lol I use control stick for all my turnaround shine stuff.

Angles: You have to hit your opponent with either top corner of your shine. If you want to turnaround and bair them after your shine. You're looking to hit them with the corner that is in front of Fox's head.

Timing: Shine, wait a millisecond for the hit-lag of your shine to subside, then turnaround and bair. You have to separate the whole move into three different parts. If you do it do fast, you'll usually get stuck in your turnaround shine because you probably tried to jump+turnaround at the same time. Shine, turnaround (then once you see that you've turned around), jump+bair. You have to do it fast though.

Connects: I think it connects on most characters, but its stupid to try vs. people that aren't fastfallers. Usually you can uair the rest of the cast for more combos anyways. Shine-bair is a novelty move that works well on Fox/Falco/Falcon because you're supposed to get alot of grabs in that match-up. Its easy to uthrow and shine-bair if you want, even in tourny.

But say you play a Marth...I just wouldn't advise throwing away opportunities for good solid damage by trying a combo that works partly because of d.i. and partly because of tech skill.

Which brings me to my next point.

D.i.: If they neutral d.i. you can hit them if you hit with the top corner like I mentioned. If they d.i. down/away, up/away, or just away, its not possible to hit them at all. If they d.i. towards you in any manner, you can hit them almost everytime.

thanks guys :]
i was really wondering about the DI cuz it always seemed like the kick would never connect unless they went up and came straight down.

but yea thanks :]
any tips/opinions are still greatly appreciated
