An unbiased ultimate roster.

Since they did put way too much effort into single player for brawl, I'm gonna write up an ideal (meaning realistic) roster for whatever distant sequel there is to brawl. Maybe we can mail it to the guy doing it next and they'll listen. I've never been one of the guys Campaigning for or against any specific character, the more the better. (Really the only character I would oppose is shadow the hedgehog. Failure of a character. That or Chuck Norris.)
But anyhoo, I'm gonna keep editing my post to include more characters from each franchise, and if you think I'm DEAD wrong, lemme know and if it seems alot of people agree with you I'll change it. Also, I'm one of the people who has no problem with clones, so when I get around to making up some movesets, I'll make some of them clones.
Without further adue-

Mario Franchise:

Mario
Luigi (Slightly more decloned.)
Peach
Bowser
Bowser Jr. (basically a clone of Bowser, faster and lighter but not as strong.)
Geno (Same as I'm saying for K. Rool, his graphics could look cool, but in SMRPG they looked dumb. Give him a more manga'd appearance like they did with pit.)

Pokemon Franchise:

Pikachu
Pokemon Trainer
Jigglypuff
Mewtwo (Will still be clone-ish with lucario, but mewtwo will suck far less.)
Lucario
Deoxys (He was pretty highly requested for a short time, from what I remember.)

Legend of Zelda Franchise:
Link
Zelda/Shiek
Ganon (Decloned, probably a mixture of magic punches and sword use.)
Toon/Windwaker Link (CelShaded next time, maybe a different Final smash.)
Mask Link (Similar to Pokemon Trainer, but switches between Goron, Deku, and Zora Link.)

StarFox Franchise:

Fox
Falco (Slightly more decloned, but I understand that him and wolf are hard to make original.)
Wolf (See above. Maybe a different final smash for him and falco.)
Krystal (Original StarFox Characters? In MY smash?)

Metroid Franchise:

Samus/Zero Suit Samus
Dark Samus (if possible, by then nobody will probably remember. Work on making a new metroid villian, nintendo. Dark samus would be a clone probably.)
Ridley (Because if I didn't say it, I'd get my nads removed.)


Donkey Kong:

DK
Diddy
K. Rool (Change his **** graphics though, he looks stupid.)


Earthbound/Mother Franchise:

Ness

Wario franchise:

Waluigi (A clone of wario. Faster and lighter, different angles in his attacks.)

Isaac from Golden Sun (Why he wasn't in is beyond me.)
Phoenix Wright (I'm putting this out there, it seems weird, but every game needs a WTF character. 64 had jiggly, Melee had G+W, Brawl had ROB. I expect SSB4 to have lots of WTF characters.)
Simon belmont from castlevania.
Miis (Would probably share some standard moves with animal crossing human due to similar body type, but other than that is original. Think Jigglypuff/Kirby in respect to their air moves.)
Banjo-Kazooie (Wishful thinking, but I could see the 3rd party success convincing them to add the duo.)

3rd Party Characters (I expect smash bros to now become "That game you get your character into in order to get publicity" now. Good for game companies, good for us, we get a big roster.)

Snake

Knuckles (He was pretty popular in his day, and no other sonic character has a slight chance of getting in, not even tails. Wait until I think up some assist trophies.)

Undecided Final Fantasy Character (I'm treading on thin ice by saying this even, because putting in one final fantasy character opens the door for many, many more of them. I was actually thinking a pokemon trainer/pikmin/ice climbers type character, where you fight as 4 of the original classes from final fantasy one, and you could switch between fighter, thief, red/black/white mage, and black belt.)

Nightmare From Soul Calibur- He's easily the most popular of soul calibur characters, and would add some sorely needed villian to the mix.

Megaman (Provided he was allowed, would make a good addition.)

Bomberman (I'd prefer to see him as an assist trophy, doesn't seem like he'd provide a good moveset, but I'll put him in.)

Viewtiful Joe (HENSHIN A-GO-GO, BABY! If he got in, that might also open the door for Dante, who right now has no chance unless specifically asked for by nintendo.)

There's a character in Dissidia - Final Fantasy that can switch classes. Warrior of Light, I think is his name. He'd represent FF better than most.

Doubt Dark Samus would be a clone, although with some of the Brawl clones...

I counted, I think there's 60 or 61. I'm bad with numbers. But yeah. I figure since they've got most of the stuff they need now to make a super smash brothers game awesome, and they won't make the mistake of working on a single-player story mode again, all they need to do is add new characters on, balance, and make new graphics. 5 years sounds about a good time frame for that to happen.

As for some of the characters, AC human and masks link could probably go. That or his moveset would be mixed into Wind Waker link.

Anyway, this isn't unbiased. What this is, is you throwing in all of your favorite characters then looking at some of the larger support thread characters. Give a Mario character manga styled graphics? It worked for Pit, it would not work for Geno. The idea just screams "Terrible planning." Phoenix Wright and Simon Belmont are third party. Falco and Wolf would NOT be hard to make original. That's just being uncreative. Your Waluigi planning is ridiculous, he's not a Wario franchise character, if anything he's a Mario Tennis character.

In fact, it's even poorly planned in concept. Sakurai said at this time he's totally unwilling to direct a fourth game.

... No. Although I like the idea of Mask Link, Zelda will need a lot more representation before it gets a third of the same main character. Hell, I expect Toon Zelda and Toon Ganondorf before Mask Link. They could have unique movesets, to be sure, but no.

Enough already. The roster is confirmed, it's nowhere near as bad as some of you people are complaining. The only truly strange ommission was Krystal. We all heard Sakurai talk about more villains and females, and I figured he could deliver both. But he didn't. It doesn't make this game awful.

We already have a great starting roster, and if the Dojo got your hopes up, well it's your own fault. After seeing all of the videos, knowing what great things you can do as this or that character, you're already begging for a fourth game? Do you really think Melee delivered on it's promises?
