I have been seriously thinking of making a website for all character matchups and info (SSBseriescharacters.com?) as something to make a little money, and something to work on... I could get a domain, but I think it will be pricey...

Anyways, if I were to make one, I would like for you guys to help me a little with the matchups and info.. It would be a great website, having pictures, attacks, and most importantly, matchups (duh)

So, how much does a website cost, is it hard to run, and is it easy to get ads once you boast a modest amount of hits??

If this is not on topic, although it is about melee, I will move it to pool room or something,,,

****, im pretty sure if you search the posts from the beggining of time u'll find a big bulk of matchups in that charactor specific sections, at least for the most popular charactors like fox and marth.

Didn't Phanna make a beautiful character matchup table, complete with color coding and everything a little while back? Where did that go off to? Let me see if I can find that thread for you, because there were several pages of discussion on quite a few character matchups.

Yeah, but this site will have it all, and no message board manuvering, anyways, it would be for noobs, with heavy evaluation and the like, for all characters against all characters...

And have good video examples of pros playing...

With links to wavedashing and the like

Not a terrible idea.
For domain pricing, it varies from provider to provider. You can get domains anywhere from $5 to $50. GoDaddy offers for a good $9, maybe lower. As for ads, getting them on your site is relatively easy. Just a little forms online here and there, and then copy and pasting code. Getting people to click on these ads, however, is the hard part. I suggest Google Ads. Running a website can be easy, and can be hard. It all depends on content and audience really.
All in all, I suggest you do some research on your own and find out if you can handle this and provide something people will actually use/browse.

Good luck.

Don't you think SSBM is a little old? Why not wait till Brawl comes out. Now there's an idea...

Yea umm...

Aside from Phanna's chart, a website already exists.

Its the old Ritt project, which stands for Roy is top tier, it was a forum to discuss every matchup in the entire game.

The problem with this is any website separate from Smashboards will not recieve the attention to keep it accurate. Essentially, all work would have to be done on Smashboards and then reposted on a separate site. This of course makes having the separate site pointless because the information is already on Smashboards.

This aside, there are also the character specific forums, which work to the same affect.

Would you go to a car yard and ask them to teach you how to sell cars in your own car yard?
