Am I the only one worried about brawl lag?

The graphics are no where near what the wii can accomplice. No in game lag.

If your not worrying about online lag at all then you are being too optimistic. Period.
SSB64&SSBM was rushed. Sakurai is spending a lot of time on SSBB. the conclusion is:
1. Brawl will own.
2. Sakurai will decrease the online lag.
No it's completly different, besides, lets be real...

Does nintendo really care about online?
No. But Sakurai does.(Sora not Nintendo!)

I'd be more worried about de-synching than lag. For those unaware of this term (my apologies if this has already been brought up- I'm too lazy to read the entire thread) it means when two players are practically playing in different time zones, because of lag separation. One player's moves register and are displayed a second or so late on the other player's screen. Similarly to how some youtube vids have the sound offset.
That is highly exaggerated. Maybe 1/60 seconds. 1/30 seconds if Sakurai is careless.

I am not to knowledgeable about online lag BUT if the lag would be less then 1/120 seconds(A frame is 1/60) will that round down to 0 frames or one? I think Sakurai will care for a sophisticated server for lag reduction.

Quoted for truth. Sakurai has had a nice long time so far to be working on the game. Yes, there might have been lag in Fountain of Dreams, but considering how many other stages are in Melee that DON'T lag, the lag problems on FoD amount to little.

This being said, I suppose I can seeing where the OP is coming from. Given that about half the stages we've seen so far (Meta-Knight's ship, Delfino Plaza, Lylat Cruise) all have moving backgrounds and changes in fields occasionally. Throw in a four player FFA with items aplenty and you'd obviously need a good game design to keep from lagging.

But that's also why I'm confident Sakurai will pull through in this regard. He wouldn't make these beautiful stages (I am one of many that feels the new Lylat stage is EPIC ) and not make **** sure that they run smoothly. He knows that lag like you seem to be experiencing in Mario Party 8 does not turn good profits, plain and simple. Not to mention his team is full of Smash addicts. He said so himself on the old smashbros.com site. They'll get it right, I'm sure of it.

Now, as for online lag, I honestly can't say what will happen there. There's always a little bit of lag depending on your connection and the server your connecting to. But I'm not completely flipping for online, I much prefer to just play with my friends in person. Just a personal preference, but I think it adds another level when you can rub a ridiculously huge win in your friends' faces in person. Or maybe I'm just a jerk lol.

In short, no, I'm not worried. I'll keep faith in Sakurai and his team, and will continue to do so for a long time to come. SSBB FOR... THE... WIN.

Are you effing kidding me? OF COURSE NINTENDO CARES ABOUT ONLINE.

That's probably the thing they care MOST about right now. They know Microsoft and Sony have them beat in that category right now, and they are probably scrambling to get things going.
Yeah they do care about online otherwise, they wouldn't have instored it. Also, Reggie(last years GDC) said that they are gonna strive the Wii for online play.(I think GDC)

Wrong, they care about people playing games with their friends and families. How many nintendo commericals do you see that advertise online play? Or press confrences that clearly adress it where it is tha main focus? Not many, if any.,
Your first word is wrong...correct, you are wrong. They definitely care about online play. They made a hit with MK and MPH online. Also the few Wii games online are a hit as well. They definitely have it in mind and they obliviously care for fans and online.
