Jiggs was Pits replacement in the first Smash. Now that Pit is here, Jiggs can take a rest (even though she is fun to play as)..

Back up that claim, please.

I've never heard that. I've heard that King Dedede and Wario where supposed to be in the original Smash, but not Pit.

Also, please back it up with something other then Wikipedia. -_-

I've also never heard of this. If Pit was such a high priority character, why didn't he get into Melee either? Jigglypuff is staying.

6 Pokemon characters is not overrepping. Pokemon is Nintendo's second best selling franchise.

well, 6 playable Pokemon and PT isnt over repping, but if u count the Pokeballs, and the stages, that kind of is. dont get me wrong, i love to see Pokemon in smash (pika's fun to use), but it kind of is being over repped.
i also never heard of Pit being in SSB64. i did have an idea that he would be in Brawl before i even knew about Brawl (read Pit's trophy in Melee).

Pokemon's a really pretty big franchise.

Like... Mario big.

The fact that PKMN Trainer is in shouldn't be that much of a surprise. We all knew Red would be in, didn't we? Well, some of us did, anyway.

PKMN Trainer's purpose is to include 3 more Pokemon without actually having 3 new characters. Pikachu, PKMN Trainer, and the last one will likely be Jiggypuff. I honestly can't see Mewtwo returning after all these, but I'd still enjoy him being there.

Either way, his purpose is to add more characters without adding more characters, since 6 Pokemon is a stretch. I doubt you'd like actually having Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard actually being different characters, do you?

I think if PKMN Trainer's taunt is "LEMME SHOW U MAH POKEYMANZ" he'd be accepted by every Smasher worldwide.

i don't they thought this through all the way.

senario. your playing on the destuctable course. it breaks. what happens to the PT. does he
a. fall to his death
b. stand on a randomly appering platform
or c. float on nothing

cheap tactics. when your about to get hit, swap out to avoid damage.

swaping pkmn after one gets nocked off the stage. were does PT through ball. land or off the edge?

B seems likely. There may be a special platform for him when you pick the character.

Cheap tactics may hurt you more than your opponent. Maybe you could switch out to escape a combo, but if this is anything like the pokemon games the incoming pkmn will take the hit anyway. I think there will be times when that is not a bad thing, like switching out ivysaur for charizard, who may have a better chance of surviving a hard hit .

Rapidly switching will damage the pokemon in some way, as will keeping them in too long, so hopefully crazy switch stall tactics won't be possible and leaning on charizard (or whichever is the "best" pkmn) will lead to failure. So don't worry, this character is far from broken IMO.

I do wonder...if these balancing measures will cripple the PT, landing him in bottom tier...or if he'll be really good despite them.
