Soooo... I'm coming off an all-nighter right now. I had to write a ten page paper for a journalism class and study for my archeology final in a few hours. I finished at seven, but I just decided to stay up and push through til after my test.

That said...

How've your experiences with all-nighters been?
What's your favorite way to stay awake? I just listened to high tempo music on my headphones.
Do you watch the sunrise (through your window)?
Do you get all giddy and stupid?
So on and so forth...

School holidays are currently going for me.
Each day I'm staying up a little later, screwing up my sleep pattern up more and more.
It's currently 12:04.

Last holidays I got insomnia, and went for 4 or so days of full-all nighters.
The experiance was...not one I'd like to repeat. It was kinda fun though, and it looks like I'm heading to it.
My music tends to be my rap collection, Eminem ftw.
When I first saw sunrise, all I thought was "Oh God. My sleep pattern has just gone straight to hell."
Giddy and Stupid? Why yes! It's starting to settle in now, actually.
I mean...just read all of the post by Blackadder here, if you can be bothered to put up with it.

Last time I pulled my all nighters, I ended up typing such crap on the forums. I can't recall much, but I went to The Meet and Great rooms, welcomed some poor person to "The wiki!" then checked out a games thread. Everyone was on about their high scores. I talked about my ultimate "High School" being 100and something.

I also did silly things, such as tripping over by the 3rd or so time in a row.
Chronic sexual arousal was also seen.

And it seems like my sleep pattern is going straight to hell all over again. :p

The only time I've really pulled an all-nighter is to play through one entire case of Phoenix Wright. I forgot which one, but it took a couple of hours. I was entranced, I guess.

Other than that, I have stayed awake till the sunrise, but then I just drop dead. It is beautiful.

I've only had one all-nighter. I was at a sleep-over and everyone was pulling pranks with like water and whipped cream so I stayed up. I have stayed up to 2am a lot but I need to sleep for just a bit to not be really tired.

I pulled an all nighter over the weekend...my friends and I were hangin' out, and they didn't sleep, so I thought "what the hell, I'll stay up"...it was pretty funny, cuz by about 5:00, I was so tired, I was acting drunk...I finally crashed at 6:30 (so...not technically a full all nighter, but within twenty minutes of it)...one of my friends crashed at about 9:30, and was acting so drunk...it was hilarious...

During Thanksgiving, from midnight on Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon, I slept 13 hours to work on a 10 page paper on Moby **** without reading the book. Shockingly, I got an A.

Lately, I would just not sleep seemingly on command with no more affects of it. Blasted insomnia.

I remember once where me and my friend just bought Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. We also had the weekend and what not. So we ended up beating the game by Sunday night XD We played till like 3:00 and slept till 8:00, ate breakfast, went running outside, came back in, played the rest of the day. I think Saturday night we played and got to that annoying snowy area and quit at 1:00 something and tried to sleep, then woke up 30 mins later saying "Lets play Diamond.." so yeah <_<

Zapdos is right; I stop for bed around 11 usually, midnight on occasion, 1 at the very latest and with excuse (returning from trip, party, etc.)... it really isn't a good thing to do. I can't think of a good reason to get up at noon as the consequence either.

The only exception was a little more then a year ago when I was writing for my book once; I was so engrossed in tweaking the sentences and storyline, or changing what someone said, or continuing to write more chapters, turns out I was up till about 9am. Yeah, that sucked, and I regretted it.

When I was in fifth grade, I pulled an all nighter on Christmas Eve cuz I was so pumped. When I saw the sunrise I was just so surprised... I didn't have a clock in my room and I was amazed at how late it was. On actual Christmas day, I crashed at 3:00 and slept for 3 hrs before my mom woke me up. I was pissed off lol.

*sigh* all nighters...

For the past 2 and a half weeks, I haven't slept in a bed till now. Instead, I've been sleeping in on a couch or floor in the lobby of a residence hall close to the one I stay at, going to bed around 10am-noon. I was staying up studying for exams with the people in that hall since we shared similiar classes.
I think the only reason I was able to stay up every one of those nights is because of the fact I was around good friends. We played poker, smoked hooka, ordered freshly baked cookies, played tag, etc despite the fact we were mainly there in that lobby to study. I'm pretty sure if I was alone, I'd fall asleep in an instant.

Wierd thing is, after finals were over, on the final days before returning home, we still met up in the lobby and continued the all nighters, just chilling in the lobby.
I just returned home and I still can't get rid of this sleep cycle...I still sleep during the day and I wander about at night. I'm a vampire <_<

I can't remember the last time I've "attempted" an all nighter. They just happen for me randomly. The last one happened about two months ago... I just laid in bed the entire time. I usually end up being ******** the following day or two... I don't see how some of you pull them off during exams.

california... knows how to party
A little Adderall goes a long way.
ooo im a fan of the adds. But the last time i pulled an all nighter was when i wasnt doing drugs and at some random party and me and my friends got back to my friends little chill out room in front of his house at 6 in the morning when his dad was leaving for work.... busted. The only times i really pull legitament all nighters is when ive been at some party until late and then im in too weird of a mood to go to bed and usually just drive around with my friends trying to get into clubs.

.... or when im way into some game or book

I always pull all nighters with games. I don't have many friends and the few that I have go to sleep at like 10 and call 12 or 1 'late'.

They aren't any fun for me [playing by yourself for 10 hours gets old] so I stopped. I did one last year but none since then.

I just pulled one last night. Not fun, but I had a paper to write and I got it done. Got a B, too, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Anyhow, all nighters are nasty, but I can usually function semi-normally the next day. I've never tried pulling off two in a row, and I never want to.

I think some people just have different tolerances for stuff like this. Some people can get by alright on less sleep than others.

Personally, I don't need much sleep to function alright the next day. I can be almost entirely normal on three hours of sleep, although if I keep it up for a while it really starts to build up. I generally try to get at least seven hours a night.
