All-Answers-Revealed Countdown: 4 Days Remain

EDIT: I cut down on the remaining days, as people say that it's highly possible that leaks might start to pop out as soon as early next week, as the game is released next Saturday in Japan. Therefore, I count down the days until I believe we're in the "Leak Zone", the time-period where leaks can pop out any second until release. Of course, leaks might appear before these remaining days, and if they do, I'll update it here.

We're approaching the ultimate goal, the goal where all our speculations will come to a conclusion. The big questions we have will be answered.

Is Ridley in?
Is Mewtwo in?
Is King K. Rool in?
Is Lucas, Snake, Ice Climbers and Wolf cut?
Have we seen the final roster?

Everything will be revealed in only 9 days, people. Maybe even earlier. The questions we've been walking with for over a year - they're soon answered! I thought I'd created this thread to discuss any of the theories/speculations we've had that has yet to be answered. Anything. While counting down the days every day. I also thought I'd add a poll to see if we're correct when we get our answers. Cast a vote and let's see if the most voted answer will be the correct one!

We're getting closer to the Dawn of the Final Day. Closer. And Closer. Every day. Every hour. Every second.

While I don't think we've seen the final roster yet because anything is possible and some characters are kept as unlockable secrets, I don't think King K. Rool or Ridely will show up. Mewtwo probably had a higher chance what with his coming back in the recent Pokémon movie and his Mega Evolution. I don't think Lucas, Snake, or Wolf will come back and Ice Climbers probably have a higher chance due to popularity and being in two games in the past, I'd be more surprised if they weren't there.

I personally don't give a **** about any of these questions, and the last one has been answered for several days now.

As far as i'm concerned after seeing such a huge roster in the leak, and knowing we have a few more characters to have revealed, we won't see anyone in a previous smash game cut, except for snake and most likely mewtwo. Sakurai didn't have it in him to cut someone that people could have been attached to after all.

I don't think we've seen the full roster, and I do believe that Mewtwo and Ridley are playable. I'm unsure on K. Rool though I do want him. I feel the third DK slot is more likely to go to Dixie at this point.

I hope we get all three though, if not K. Rool I'd want to see Cranky added to the DK roster before Dixie.


As for the cuts, yeah I sadly do believe Snake and Ice Climbers have been cut, and I think it's likely for Lucas too. I do however hope to see Snake and Squirtle come back as DLC in the future though as I really like them as characters.

True. I wouldn't mind at all to get Snake and the rest of the crew as future DLC, as then we'd have something to look forward to, and they can bring in features they didn't have time to bring into the game in the first place.

Next time you do a poll like this. Don't restrict it to where I have to choose a choice that makes me choose another character as well...I can only really see mewtwo coming back. Ridley's a boss. And K. Rool would make sense but

But really, he could just be hiding the newcomers that are hidden until post-release (aside from Lucina presumably). He did that for Brawl, too, despite Ness and Marth appearing in the opening footage.

God I hope Issac is in. I'm satisfied with the roster now but if Issac is in I'll be so happy

I feel that Mewtwo has a chance, Ridley's chance is only because Sakurai never fully confirmed him as a stage hazard, and I don't think K. Rool has any chance.

No matter what the 3DS version has or doesn't have, there will be people who still believe that any number of the hype 3 will be revealed alongside the Wii U version. Lots of questions will be answered, but speculation will not stop until after the Wii U release.

It should be fair that the Earthbound series gets a bit more representation, considering Fire Emblem got at least two more newcomers.

Fire Emblem has had a presence in the U.S. in games outside of Smash in the years following Melee, and with the release of Awakening, its popularity boomed.

Earthbound in the U.S. has more or less been treated as the red-headed step child of Nintendo. Sure, we eventually got an e-shop release of the original Earthbound, but that's it. As much as I would love to see Lucas make a comeback(he was my secondary in Brawl), I understand why he's not coming back. It is unfortunate.

More seriously. I expect a "Link DLC in Mario Kart 8". When we already had given on hope, Nintendo will deliver the stuff, and it will be a lot and unexpected.

Mewtwo has the most concrete evidence going for him. Ridley is still a mystery... But I think that's precisely what Sakurai wants, because he's in. I could be wrong, of course, but I think the signs point to "Yes" for him. King K. Rool is wishful thinking, though...

Doubt it'll be 8 days. There's always outlets that release the game a few days too early. I'd give it 6.

I like to hunt those outlets down. My latest was getting Pokemon X like 4 days early.

Metwto would be cool to return I guess. I liked him a lot in Melee.
Ridley I don't want in the game as a PC. I think SSB4 would be worse off if Ridley was a playable character.
K.Rool, I don't have a preference either way. I could recreate DKC1/2 with Donkey and or Diddy vs K.Rool. That'd be cool.

Yea i agree. I would change it back to the actual release date. Leaks can pop up at any time but actually prediciting a leak is just going to lead to confusion.

But just for optimistic sakes i remember the X/Y leaks happened around 3 days before street date.(Lol i clearly remember NO ONE believeing Greninja and Delphox and i was like "Their ugly enough to be real")

Of cause it means exactly that. The dates exist for a reason. Your choice to break the dates. It's not illegal, just immoral.

DK absolutely needs another rep. 2 reps compared to Mario getting 6 (7 if you include Yoshi) reps, Fire Emblem having 4 and Kid Icarus having 3. Why can't Donkey Kong (one Nintendo's oldest franchises) get a 3rd rep? K.Rool would be great for being a new DK rep, a villain which we're lacking and a DK character that is not one of the Kongs making him unique.

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not against these franchises having more characters (the more the merrier I say) I just think it's unfair that DK is getting the cold shoulder.

Ridley again deserves to be in for the lack of villains we have on the roster and to give Metroid another rep that isn't Samus.

I agree with you on Mewtwo, He is the most requested veteran in Smash history. If we're getting Dr. Mario back we should get Mewtwo back as well.

mewtwo only or none of the “big three” playable seem like the most likely outcomes (no order), with mewtwo + ridley being a distant third

don't think the CSS showed the final roster but very close to it (maybe 2-5 characters left?). i don't care about ridley, snake, or wolf but i do want the ice climbers (with the grab infinite gimmick hopefully eschewed in favor of making both popo and nana better overall) and lucas back, though that seems unlikely at best. a mewtwo return would be nice (and hopefully, if he makes it in, he'd be better than his melee incarnation); though i'm praying for k rool i'm well aware that he almost certainly won't make an appearance.

It reflects more on the retailer than it does on the buyer. Actually, it doesn't really reflect especially poorly on the buyer at all unless they then decide to leak everything to the public, rather than just enjoy the game themselves. I wouldn't go out of my way to blame someone for wanting to satisfy their own personal hype a little earlier than expected.

I'm not just talking about street dates here, but also I think there is a chance that someone may get their copy early that is if they had ordered the game online.
