Some controversy. This probably applies strongly to smash as it's a game primarily about gaining space and keeping it, hell a fundamental part of the game is spacing. Men also genetically have better spatial awareness, which, I think we all can agree is needed in video gaming. I feel like we have a sort of genetic advantage when it comes to games that require us to realize our position relative to everything else on the stage/map/level.


I actually was checking this out because a girl yelled at me for being too good at a video game and said I probably never got laid or had friends or anything.

ATTN Fang & Ean: Need you to tell me whether these rules are ok from a competitive standpoint. I had to modify them slightly from the rules Fang posted earlier since it took like 30 minutes to do 2 out of 3 last time, we are a smaller venue, etc.

Entry fee: $10 per person ($20 per team)
Entrants who bring a working xbox 360 with hard drive and game AND/OR system link cable *that we use for the tournament!!* will receive $5 off their entry fee.

Game Type: 2v2 Team Slayer Only
• Score to Win: 50
• Weapons on Map: Default
• Camo / Shields / Invisibility: Off
• Vehicles: Mongooses Only
• Starting Weapon: Battle Rifle
• Swords: On

*10 min time limit; 15 min time limit for grand finals
*All events are double elimination. However we will NOT be doing “best 2 out of 3” this time as it takes ridiculously long and we won’t have enough systems.
*You are strongly encouraged to bring your own controller, though we will have a few extra on hand.
*If a problem arises with a controller or in game settings, notify a tournament director immediately. If you finish a game with a loss and then report the mishap no action will be taken.
*Players must report within 5 mins of match call or will be disqualified.

Maps will be as follows:
Construct
Epitaph
Guardian
Heretic (only if ODST disc is available for all consoles)
Narrows
The Pit
*If both teams cannot agree on a map to play on, they will start on Guardian.

I'd have to guess there is something going on. I'm gonna hang out with matt during the latter half of the day and I assume we're gonna do something beforehand.

Socked in the face for what? You can't handle internet trash talk so you gotta take it out irl. There's nothing honorable or respectable in that. Oh well, it doesn't matter cause it didn't even hurt anyways. Too bad you wasted your free shot on such a weak punch, if you could even call that a punch. Just know that you won't get another one.

Oh, and I owe you one. Eye for an eye, ya know?

hey guys, lets get the thread locked again... anyways, that movie NINJA ASSASSIN was ****ing awesome, talk about having tech skill IN REAL LIFE. holy jesus. matt and kira were creaming the entire movie, like i had to go and get a **** load of towels for the people sitting in front of us...

this looks good, however, we should just use router that can connect all the 360s together you know? 4 360s will be sufficient. make starting weapons BR AND assault rifles. theres no way they can get 50 kills in 10 mins... make it like 15. oh and no vehicles.

oh btw, a new course of action has been motioned by James, and should be taken into consideration under the smash council. motion states that we start calling Kira, RoboKira, pronounced roboKAIra. a pun that references a character in guilty gear.

smashmas is gonna be somewhat like this

Really? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm the only senior for both high school and college within the group of people who play smash up here and I'm not going.
