Okay so i see a lot of people talking about Fair dairs and all that, and I'm like? What does that mean? It's like another language to me? Could someone explain to mean what exactly all that is? And all the terms and what they mean?

You play Link, right? you know how when you press back and A while in the air, link does two kicks backwards? that's a back-air, or Bair, or Backwards aerial, or whatever. Link's thing where his does his one kick is a Nair, or Neutral-air. His pogo-stick sword move is his Down-air (Dair) and his double-hitbox'd sword-slashy thing is his Fair (Forward air).

Pretty simple, obvious stuff, really.

i never knew what tap a is. is it ntilt? as in neut tilt
If you tried to neutral tilt you would jab, I haven't heard tap a that much but I assume they would mean jab if you were on the ground and nair if you were in the air.

There's 4 types of moves:

Smash attacks where you smash the stick and press a

Tilt attacks where you just tilt the stick and press a

Air attacks where you move the stick in a direction and press a in the air

and b moves.

The letter before (u, d, f, b, n) indicates what direction the stick goes when you press a. b for back only applies to air moves and n for neutral only applies to air moves and tilts (a neutral tilt is usually called a jab, because you're not actually tilting the stick).

They should remove the abbreviations ANA ABA AFA ect from the terms and advanced techniques thread since everyone uses the nair bair fair terms.
