Does anyone have any info on this game? Is it going to be released in America or only in Europe? When is the release date?

I just saw the new trailer for this game..alot of things have changed! But I'm still willing to give this game a chance! I am pumped for the WiFi feature but I wonder how that will work? Cuz people may take a long time (i.e. not even attempt to take a turn and piss people off) for their turns...im willing to bet they will put like a time limit on your turn (i.e. 2 minutes) because people can just not do anything!

As far as I know all the characters in the old games aren't in this one. It is completely different. So sorry no sonja or Sami for you. (Sami was my fav char btw)

This game looks very promising. I'm glad they decided to tone down CO powers, because some of them were just god-awful broken. Definitely going to get this when it comes out.

Wrong! CO powers were part of what made the game great, they were a way of balancing out the game if anything, more powerful overdrives (i believe thats the correct term?) had longer charge meters. And characters that tended to be more powerful in general usually had weaker overdrives (take hawke fpr example).

... but as characters go I tended to use Colin, Grit, Sami, Lash, and Jess the most... Jess from AWII was my favorite character, her missile ftw. However, in AWDS i think i favored koal (surprised?) his forced march should not be taken lightly.

.

errr..no. For instance, Grit was great, he had an addition space of range already, then he gets two more from his super power? or even just one from his normal power? His normal power filled VERy quickly, and his super wasn't that short either. PLus his ranged units were insanely powerful. His battle ship/rockets could shoot at things 8 spaces away. i don't think there's anything other than a bomber that can get there in one move ( can't remember the range on that) or a fighter, but that can't hurt his units...

Jess was the worst CO inside AW2 because she sucked basically with everything...at least they fixed her in AWDS...Lash and Sturm were my fav COs in AW2. Inside AWDS, Jake and Rachel were my fav combo! And Grit was had normal attack with direct units inside AWDS. Max waa still weak with indrect units in AWDS!

There were some pretty broken CO Powers, especially when you tagged in the first DS version. Some COs were FAR more useful than other, regardless of there charge meters.

Most of the characters had something that made them all broken or really powerful if used correctly either with or w/o a DS. (Depending on your partner) So I think for the most part that everyone was good.

Drake has always been my favorite, then again, it might be because my name irl is Drake but o well. The fact that his CO powers cut fuel rocked like crazy. My other favorites were

Drake
Eagle
Rachel

drake... meh water battles are weak, he is awesome though. Also Rachel is very average.
No, she is above average...she gets +3 (she gets an additional 1 HP everyday she heals a unit) HP everyday on a base/factory/airport/etc. Her super move is awesome, 3 random missles, too bad they can hurt your own units and you cant control the missles because they sometimes fire at dumb spots (1 mega tank instead of like 3 anti air and 3 neo tanks for example). And she retains her extra luck with her normal CO from her sister Nell!! :)

I'm so psyched for this game! :D

oh i forgot about the about the extra health, but her unit stats are average and as for the missiles, its really not as good as it sounds Nell is much better than her. (or at least as my memory serves i remember Nell being very good in advance wars two but i cant remember how good she was in dual strike) But we should settle our disputes on the wifi battlefield when the new one comes out!

sounds good. lol i remember flak. he was a really bad CO. his powers have 3 outcomes - lower dmg, average dmg and high dmg while Nell could only have 2 - normal dmg or high dmg, who in their right mind would pick flak over nell? she can either do normal or higher damage unlike flak. btw lash was my favorite black hole army CO (with the expection with Sturm) because of her super co move - HQ = 8 Defense, FTW!

he is supposely dead, he is a robot after all. someone could just rebuild him or something.
yeah i was fond of AW1, their emotions when they win/lose an attack was priceless.

spann island is the best war room map, i can beat it in 7 days. :p
and he wasnt playable because he was at his homeland defending against the other black hole forces i think.

Oh, I had no idea there was going to be another one on the DS. It sounds like this one will be better, because I wasn't too fond of Dual Strike. AW2 was a lot of fun though.

And I agree with MattDel, I won't miss the COs too much...and I'm glad the powers will be toned down.

The clone idea was a little silly IMO. If they could make a clone of any CO like they did (Andy, Drake etc.) why not make a clone of Sturm to **** everyone?

Tag powers are what made AW DS so easy. I would usually always win in like the first or second tag special. So yea I guess they were pretty broken. Oh yeah and the special items you could give your characters after they leveled were so cheap!! Even hard mode was a breeze. Now hard mode in the first AW was pretty difficult. Well mostly that one mission with kanbei. It was ridiculously hard. I still beat the game though

No old COs will be in this game, period.

No Dual Strikes in this game, period.

Overall, powers have been toned down for this game, although we don't know what that means for SCOPs. Perhaps we'll be going back to the days of AW1, with just one power?

Many price changes, unit changes, new units of course. Most importantly we have 1500g infantry, 2500g mechs, 12000g (weaker) medium tanks now by the name of heavy tanks, and 2500g motorcycle infantry that are essentially normal infantry but with five movement.

There is a promotion system; if you have a unit that has destroyed an enemy unit it gains a firepower/defense bonus, then if it destroys a couple/a few more it goes up another level. Known levels are I, II, and A.

There's a bunch of other stuff that you could find out if you just went over to advancewarsnet.com or gamefaqs, but that's what I feel is the most important. Wifi should be fun indeed.

i never beat the first advance wars, the last level with sturm was too hard for me. :(
i did beat advance wars 2 and AWDS. AWDS's last stage was too easy IMO. I pwned those ooziums. :)

Sturm was a little hard on the first game, but the only real level that had insane difficulty was that level with Kanbei in hard mode. Fog of War and you had to capture a certain amount of properties which he always seemed to have captured in like 7-9 days (can't remember). It took me literally a whole month to beat that level. I never in my life went through a level in any strategy game that was more difficult than that one. After that Kanbei level the rest of the game wasn't too difficult, but it was much harder than AW 2 and AW DS.

The more options you have the easier the game would be cause I can always use the options better than the computer can lol. Just like in AW DS their tag powers did hardly anything compared to my devastating tag powers. In AW there was a lot less options which made it harder for me to win when the computer had a whole bunch of strong units.

I miss training mode..lol Olaf kept on getting pwned in training mode. Medium tanks = most powerful ground unit. inside awds, i never liked megatanks, sure they're powerful, but they move so freaking slow so i usually build neotanks cause they're not as powerful but move alot furthur! mercs are also another favorite unit for me! btw air battles and ground battles are more intense than sea battles...never liked sea battles. :)

ummm question: will wifi allow for 2v2's? i hope so!

i was thinking about it recently and i created a sort of tier list for non special conditions battles (water, ice, fog of war etc etc). I made tiers for tag and solo ... heres what i came up with (some CO are exempt because they are only practical in certain battles)

Omitted COs
Olaf
Sonja
Drake
Sensei
Sami
Javier (because of com towers ...probably would have been low tier anyway)

Solo Tiers

Top - Grit, Lash, Adder

.... i tried to make it but im realizing you can't really make solo tiers so all i can do is top tier

Tag-

Top- Colin/Sasha, Koal/Adder.... basically sasha/anyone as sasha's regular power is the total pwnz in Tag

... feel free to post your thoughts or tiers, i wasnt able to make these as well as i thought i was going to be able.
