I love this moveset so far. :D

My only complaint is that his Kamehameha is sorta weak, considering it's his signature attack he learned from Roshi.

i know its also why i will buff it abit in knockback but not in DMg or it will be too over powered and i want him to fit with Vbrawl

Alright, I think I'm comfortable enough with BrawlBox animation to try some stuff. Are there any animations you want to be made?
if you can see the .gif animations in first post i want them to be made also the other attacks that needs animations i only got animations for near all "B" attacks (not the Down-B kaioken yet)

The planned moveset seems to generic, too similar to C. Falcon besides the specials, I've got some ideas, feel free to take whatever you want from it(Posts copied from KKMM forums addressing SDo0M):

AAA Combo

-Second before last hit has slight upwards knockback so the enemy gets hit into the air

-The last hit(the kick) sends the enemy diagonally down so the opponent has an opportunity to techroll

-The second hit can be canceled with a crouch(Goku's gonna have some cancels like Link has, cancels were the main thing for comboing in the Budokai games and Goku should be a combo type character)

[If the hits are too fast for you to see in the video he does left punch, right punch, left roundhouse kick then brings his leg back to the same position, then he does a right roundhouse kick and spins with the kick, he comes around with a left elbow, then he finally does a jump axe kick]

Down Tilt

2 presses of the A button, you can choose NOT to do the second attack, but at certain percentages on certain characters, the second attack may be very beneficial, his down tilt would be a leg sweep and then you press A again to do his handstand double upwards kick

And if possible add one more attack by pressing a button again and you teleport behind the opponent in the air and smash them back down with and elbow or a double hammerfist smash, you know where you clasp your hands together and raise them above your head then smash downward

Side Tilt

There's a few ways these could work, I know he has an up, down and neutral side tilt and all should be used but idk if it should be made so you should tilt the direction before you throw out the attack, tap neutral side tilt first and then roll it to a direction(like Marth's side B), or use different button combinations, but these are the ideas

I was thinking a rush in elbow with a similar effect to C. Falcon's dash attack, where it has little knockback so you can start a combo relatively quick





To me, Goku should be a flashy character, now you know how your Shadow's AAA combo works? Think about having that on all of Goku's moves except slightly faster.

That doesn't mean the moves should be high powered or rack up damage quick, the whole point is to add flashiness and options to his moveset since he is a master martial artist

Here's an example, his downtilt should be two moves activated by 2 presses of the A button, you can choose NOT to do the second attack, but at certain percentages on certain characters, the second attack may be very beneficial, his down tilt would be a leg sweep and then you press A again to do his handstand double upwards kick, look here in the video:

See the idea would be the first hit of the downtilt, the leg sweep, would send the enemy straight up UNLESS the enemy DI's out of the way, if they fail to do so, you can get them with the next move

Also, Up B should be flight, like Pit, for like 5-10 seconds and he can throw out regular A moves or his Aerial attacks like Peach's float

I'm gonna get way more specific with suggestions but I'll take a little time seing as you have 2 other movesets to go through first, I just wanted to show you the idea, I think having him be fast and flashy yet having combo options would make him really fun to play as, because what you described, and I mean no offense, he sounded too much like C. Falcon just with different specials, I just want to help make him as much fun to use as Shadow

Sorry about not having any animations ready. I've been pretty busy with real life recently and have also ran into some issues with animating. With any luck I'll get an animation done and on Mediafire tomorrow.

awesome and as soon i get some animation i deteled the .gif Animation and give the attack a ingame pic instead that also mean it is done :D(or almost done)

I put up youtube videos, there aren't any gif animations I could make for the moves in the videos, it's the first move that shows up

I'll try to get time to put up more ideas

Ummm, question: why does his Up-B let him pass through anything (meaning able to recover from UNDER the stage? :p

Alright, I'm a day late, but better late than never. I don't know how this will look in game given that either my Brawl disc was broken by Family Video while they buffed or my disc drive decided to not read dual-layer discs anymore, but here's the new wait animation. The right leg kind of jumps a bit, you'll see what I mean if you even look at it in BrawlBox, but I wanted to show I was at least doing something.

I have the download link for the chr0 file in my post, it's the word "here's". The only reason that's all I've uploaded to Mediafire is that's the only animation I've worked on so far I think has any degree of competance whatsoever, so it's the only one I decided to upload. More are on the way after I get back from Cleveland tomorrow.

Just wandered into this thread. Please tell me you're not using the jump ultimate stars sprites as direct reference, they're very badly animated. Use them as inspiration for the moves, sure, but you've gotta do a better job at the animation than they did.

if i may suggest for a final smash: Goku transforms into super saiyan 4 and does increased dmg., just like wario's final smash. that would be sweet imo

Edit: fabulous job by the way, looks great to me

I'd say that too much for Goku in a Super Smash Bros game. Ssj or spirit bomb is good enough

I realize I'm sort of bumping this thread, but I've done some work on this character and i should be able to post the files in an edit with a couple animations and the corresponding psa work.

(Still working on getting them zipped up nice and neat LoL....)


Changes: I renamed all the longterm variables so they wouldnt coincide with other PSAs i have, and i tweaked sibe-B, up-B, and goku's attributes so he would work a little better on whatever codeset i have running that i can't remember right now.

Important Changes: New animation and graphics for AAA attack (a small two-handed ki burst), and new 3-hit combo animation for up smash (CF's Usmash kick, followed by a teleport into the air and double fist hit into the ground, and finally a ki burst sending the enemy into the air). Both end in blue ki bursts.

Oh and I added "turtle" kanji to the front and back of the non-saiyan armor textures. (It only looks distorted because Goku's back is crooked)

Sorry for no video or pics, i lack the effort and resources :/

this Project is not dead i am still working on Goku so no problems in Bumping i dont have updated this in long time
also a Kid goku (GT) moveset i will update anything as soon i am done and thanks for helping :D

On the bright side, I just uploaded an update to both of those files!

ok i try them out Soon also goku mainly needing PSA work now fix his Side-B more/find SFX IDs (Voices for get ready for SFX pack) for fit to the attacks and GFX but i made alot of prograss since last time i updated this Thread i will soon update this Thread

Ya I'm really only good for animating and graphics, because I probably run a different codeset, so our PSAs will be adjusted differently and I can't fix up side-b for your codeset, and I don't really know where to get SFX for Goku...

Can't wait to see what progress you made!

Edit: made start and hold animations to go with FSmash.

Edit #2: I uploaded newer textures with smaller and less warped turtle kanji on the front.
