Please hit the "I am attending" button so we have an idea of how many people to expect.

Good day everyone. I am here once again to invite you all to attend the 2nd smash event brought to you by Active Gamers.

As requested, the tournament will take place on 2 separate days.

Saturday 07/25 being a Melee tournament ONLY
Sunday 07/26 being a Brawl tournament ONLY.

This is a ONE DAY event taking place on separate days for each game (Brawl and Melee)

The same rules will apply as the last event, but there will be some distinct differences. I will lay out the rules as usual, but I will describe those differences now:

Change in venue fee:

Now don't get angry or excited. You'll see it's all quite sensible.
This is a business that Active Gamers is running, and it is a growing one. And in order to grow, we need the community to help us. But the raise in fees is not without its benefits. Allow me to explain.

You get a FREE meal of your choosing by entering BOTH events (Singles and Doubles).

The fees are as follows:
5$ for an initial event of your choosing.
4$ for the 2nd event.

For example, if you only want to join singles, you pay a 5 dollar venue fee and that's that.
However, if you want to join doubles as well, you pay an additional 4 dollars BUT, you get a FREE meal ticket worth 5 dollars.

Essentially, by joining both events, you are paying a total of 4 dollars for the venue so long as you are human and plan to eat at some point during the day :).

If you choose to enter just 1 event, we regret to inform you all that we will not be able to provide you with a free meal.

It really ends up cheaper if you enter both events instead of just one. Many people enjoyed the food last time, I'm sure any newcomers will as well.

You can do the math :)

I regret to inform you all that we can no longer provide a free meal, as the HAX owner will be taking in 50% of anything we make, and the addition of Prosu Burgers has made the task even more difficult to accomplish.

We did lower the fee from 9 to 8 dollars though. Again, I am REALLY sorry, it's just the way things turned out to make this bigger.

Rules apply to both events unless otherwise noted.
There will be NO need to bring set ups, as there will be plenty already at the venue.

This is a house tournament, so I am expecting everyone to treat the place as you would treat your own homes. Keep in mind, there are bigger things in the works, this is just the start.

And it will be great food.

Raffle Prizes:

As of right now we are certain prizes will be Movie tickets. I will change this ASAP as we add more prizes. And believe me, we will be adding more prizes.

You will get 1 ticket per event that you enter. The more events you enter, the more chances you have to win. EX: Entering Melee doubles AND singles will get you 2 tickets.

(2) Character selection is done "Double Blind". Any player may instead choose a character before the opponent and skip Double Blind.
(3) Stage Select is determined by Elimination Method (see 'Stage Select - First Round', below).

- Round 2 -
(1) Winner of the Previous match bans a stage from the list of stages. Loser of the previous round announces the stage to be played - you may not choose a stage on which you have already won.
(2) Winner of the previous round selects character.
(3) Loser of the previous round selects character.
(4) Stage is highlighted by the previous round's loser, and started by the previous round's winner.

Repeat 1-4 for each additional round played.
______________________
Stage Select - First Round
-------------------------------
Players alternate choosing a stage to "eliminate" from the list of available stages, starting with the player with the controller slot closest to #1. The last stage remaining is used for the first round of the set.

_________________________________
Brawl Specific Additional Game Rules & Clarifications
-----------------------------------------------
* Finals in both the Primary and the Elimination Brackets will be "Best of Five" games.

* Grand Finals will be "Best of Five", with the player coming from Elimination Bracket needing to win two Sets to take first place.

* In case of time-out, the winner is the player with the most stock. In case of tied stock, the winner is determined by lowest damage percent.

*If someone kills by locking in a suicide move such as ganondorf flame choke or bowser bomb the person who initiated the move wins.

*Standing Infinites are banned. Ice Climbers grabs are allowed. Wall infinites allowed.

*Ledge rule in effect. 50 ledge grab limit. If in the event you suspect your opponent of grabbing
ledge above the limit after the match is finished you
check the stats. If your opponent has indeed gone over the limit you win the match.

* In case of technical problems (e.g. power outage) the round will be replayed, do not start from damage percent or stock lost.

General Additional Game Rules and Clarifications
________________________________________

-Please bring your controllers (Use wavebirds at your own risk) and MARK THEM

-All seeded players will be accounted for. We are using a NEW version of TIO which has most of it's bugs fixed and runs a lot more smoothly! So seeding won't take too long anymore.

-If you're gonna be late call me and i'll add you to the slots, and see if I can hold you off till you arrive. Please arrive ON TIME.

-You must take care of all your personal belongings. It is YOUR responsibility to do so. If you don't want something jacked, take really good care of it or don't bring it at all.

Actually guys, we are switching Brawl to Sunday and Melee to Saturday in order to steer clear of Race's brawl tournament on Saturday.

Updated first post.

say goodbye to Melee having decent attendance Race. sorry I'm not going to yours :( melee people only in that one nice room and no brawl people. sounds too good to miss.

-Connor

didnt he change it so they didnt collide?
Race's tournament is Brawl/Melee. so Active Gamers would collide with it either way.

Sorry Race, but it was a compromise we made.

It was either our tournament interfered with your Melee or your Brawl. So we made that decision to help you out as best we could.
Also, we're less apt to just change it off to next week, because we aren't working for ourselves. We are working under Active Gamers.

AH and I forgot to give the AIB link. Updated first post, but here it is anyways:

i really get a kick out of the aib shoutout system

the TO makes the first post say Reserved,

but it just gets pushed to the bottom, defeating the purpose of saving the top post
