Personally, I'm going to be avoiding this forum like the plague from when Brawl is released until I get it. Luckily I'm importing! You'll be seeing me spreading my tales on... probably the 28th of January.

I thought Sakurai said all original twelve were going to be in the game, near the beginning of the development of Brawl.

What I hate about leaks is people screaming "FAKE" at the top of their lungs, even though they don't have any information to back up their claim. Even moderators on these boards are jumping on the band wagon, it's so sad.

Seriously, if you don't have any insider info to know for sure that a certain leak is fake, go ahead and lock a thread. But just locking a thread because you THINK it's fake, that's silly.
Jim Carrey as Count Olaf from "The Series of Unfortunate Events" will appear in Brawl. His attacks include cake sniffing and using the number of 23 to kill all opponents onscreen. For his Final Smash he prays to Morgan Freeman who uses his omnipotent powers to convert all other players to his religion.

Prove me wrong.

This is pretty much what every single leak is. It's fake evidence dressed up nicely with the intent to fool people for whatever reason the creator wants. There is no reason to trust anyone's source over the example I just provided so it's safe to assume it's false.

It was so detailed I pretty guarnateed it was real, but no, apparantly, it was proven fake because a DIFFERENT member put up a list that he was apparantly given by nin10dough.

W/E. We'll wait and see next week.

Are there any REAL leaks out right now??

If so, can you tell me where?

There's a huge difference between ridiculous and possible info.

And what bugs me so much is seeing two threads that *could* BOTH be legit leaks, and while one is closed, the other remains open and up for discussion. While there is nothing absolutely ridiculous in either of them.

I'm just wondering what justification the moderators have to close one while keeping the other open? Especially when moderators themselves don't have any insider info.

Either leave all of em open, or close all of them. (as long as things aren't as ridiculous as your example) I don't understand this difference in treatment.

No, I assure you. I've got sources. People would have claimed Mr. Game&Watch to be ridiculous, but look at what happened. Jim Carrey is in the game.

They probably glazed over it or just forgot to close it.

Umm...if you havent noticed...thts wat most of us are looking for. Just be patient, the roster will probably be leaked by the 13-15.
The real question though, is wether or not we recognize that particular leak as the real one.

I'm pretty sure that even when the roster is actually leaked, we don't find out until after the game is released in japan, and we can look back and be amazed that a certain leak was true all this time.

I'm 99% sure that's the way it'll go with the leak. Considering it's just words.

Whenever someone has managed to grab a copy and showed screens of new characters, that's an entirely different leak. :)

You didn't read my post then. I'm not talking about people ACTING like their info is legitimate, coming up with "my uncle this" or that. I'm talking about the believability of the actual leaked info.

I'm just saying that absolutely ridiculous threads can be locked no probs. But why do so many other 'leaked threads' remain open? Possibly because they CAN be true, and that the moderators have no greater knowledge and insight to justify the closure of the thread.

So my question was, why one particular thread, that had no ridiculous info in it, was closed. While so many other threads remain open, even though there's no difference in the believability of the claims therein.

You know what I think? Some of the moderators here are even worse fanboys than the members, and when they don't like the looks of a particular 'leak' thread, regardless of the believability of the actual info, and they decide to close it to stroke their ego.

They probably glazed over it or just forgot to close it. [/QUOTE]

Yeah right, there's like 20 different threads out there right now discussing about possible leaks and all of them were overlooked? That's even more stupid than believing ridiculous leaks.

These leaks are tricky to tell if they are real or not a fake leaker would say "i've played the game and this is what happens" and a real leaker would say "i've played the game and this is what happens" if they say these things how do we know what is real? We can spend hours looking and reading leaks and seeing if they are congruent with each other and still come up with bupcus. its true that the melee roster was leaked and no one knew whether it was real or not, most thought it was fake until they got hit with that little yellow nightmare (pichu). so for all we know all the leaks are true and all the leaks are fake. unless the poster straight comes out and says "i made it up" it can go either way. and if they do say "i made it up" are they lying to protect their beta tester status? so many things are wrong with info leaks.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head.

And now I'm not gonna contribute further to this thread cause I'd probably only get into a flamewar with people that zealously try to bust a certain leak, even though they don't have any info to back up their claims.

Not that I have info to back up the believability of a certain leak, it's always best to be neutral on these things. Everything and nothing can turn out to be true.

finally...someone who agrees with me!

for anyone looking out for leaks on this game take my advice. If it's not found on the dojo or coming out of sakurai's mouth personally it is not true. That is not saying that it might not become true. What i'm saying is don't believe anything until you see it yourself. after all seeing is believing right?

I have no idea what you're talking about. There are currently TWO closed threads on this page. Out of all the active moderators only two, maybe three, of them actually care about the Brawl boards. Despite what you might think, moderators dont check around all day just hoping to close a thread or two.

And who are you to defend the rights of some leaks and not mine? Jim Carrey is in the game. If you're too close minded to see that then I feel sorry for you. How is it any more rediculous than Ridley the Purple Dinosaur?

This is getting ridiculous. Why do people want to give us false information? Do they want hate mail and spam? Do they enjoy not having lives?

Do something constructive with your lives instead of creating fake "leaks". You know why? By doing this, you're accomplishing nothing. Get a job. Collect stamps. Smoke weed. SOMETHING.

We should keep track of all the dousches who post "leaks", and then when we actually know the roster we should chain them up to a wall and slowly stone them to death.

Either that or spam their inboxes with junk mail and porn.

Keep in mind that the author of that post claims to have been a beta tester.

There's an important difference between playing a game in development and playing a leaked copy. You cannot play a leaked copy if one hasn't leaked yet. The info may still be correct, however, but it should be doubted as it cannot be proven.

Once the game leaks, however, pictures and footage should accompany any info if it is to have any credibility.

Um sorry TC, but then you're probably overoptimistic if false news excite you.

To me, it's annoying as hell because everyone's gonna believe it, then spread it all over the forum, even making the ones with a clear mind unsure, then it's all a lie and then people complain about it for weeks.

Annoying. It was funny for a while, but it's becoming worse by the minute.

Alright, Ridley not being playable, I can SOMEWHAT deal with that. But as a STAGE HAZARD? I want a full-fledged Boss Fight against Meta-Ridley, if we're looking to make Ridley a boss. But hopefully that's not the case, and Ridley is playable :D

Also, TAMAGON? You're kidding right.

Although, Jajamaru & Cecil were good ideas XD

We are in dire need of Sakurai to step into the Dojo again and dropfeed us with the only anaestethic that works... We needs us our weekday fix lest we collectively start slowing down the entire internet, and with it, THE WORLD!

"Ness? Knuckles?!"

"FAKEE!!!!"

Silly kids.
Give this man a cookie. You have a point, seeing all the fake stories and such really are the closest thing to hype you can get these days :p

Perhaps there is some truth to this information if Serebii expresses doubts about what he knows?

Sorry man. Hate to pressure you even more, but I had to say it...
