A "World Smash Ciruit"?????????????

i'm not sure this could work this is pretty much just me imagining the utmost...

but i had this idea...

instead of relying on mlg

you think there is a possibility if the smash community can make a legit world circuit???

i been thinking about mlgs and wrcs and stuff

i was just day dreaming thinking that if TO's across the globe got together then a circuit could work hahaha

and then like a typical final of anything finish it in vegas

then the winners can get rings instead of a trophy (cuz rings are the ****, and the champs can show other their rings LOL)

like uhh with these tournaments im guessing is were it could actually happen, since they're all the summer time and whatnot

SoCal (Tourney Play??)
North Carolina (Airship)
Florida (GAMME)
Mexico (Smash Mex)
Midwest(POE3)
Canada????
East Coast (APEX)
Europe(Zest 5, altough i doubt this cuz i seen its may 1st)

Then after everyone can just repeat the ciruit next summer, a yearly thing i guess..

im thinking it could work cuz all those tournaments are happening anyway, it's just im not sure if any of the TO people are willing to even do this in the first place, let alone add the name of whatever the circuit name may be with their tournament name already.

in the end, i kinda doubt this cuz it involves people doing ****.....

but yea idk...

unless you get the sponsors to fly the top players to a tourney every 4 weeks (like MLG did), this is going to be hard pressed to succeed

people simply don't have it in them to fund monthly trips around the country unless they're placing in the money in all of them, and too few players do that

you should try even running a WC circuit first... it's a lot more complicated than slapping your name on tournaments and then taking a cut out of their pot

don't you think its better that no one gets funded??

simply cuz you'll have a different winner from each event(hopefully LOL)

cuz if you flew all the best to each event

it would kinda kill the whole point of having it in different regions

the only thing im assuming were funds will be needed

So I just realized the lotto is up to 225 million or something absurd like that. Get on that. **** you could run the most legit circuit. Free entry with 10k first place per stop. Then 50k for championships. That alone would get the media pumping the hype. "irresponsible millionare giving away small fortune for a video game tournament"

i don't think it ever truly becomes +EV because when it "is" (assuming there's exactly one jackpot winner), so many more people will jump in on it that it will end up getting split

if it DID, then anyone could just buy all possible combinations and guarantee themselves a profit

So it's not +ev. If N people besides yourself play, the odds of no other person winning when you win is [(175,711,536 - 1)/(175,711,536)]^N. i.e. the odds of losing N times.

So if 10,000,000 tickets are bought, there is a ~5.5% chance that someone else will win and that you'll have to split the pot. This also assumes that everyone picks their numbers at random, so each number is equally likely to get picked, which is not the case, but it's probably not a huge effect. I'm not sure how to adjust the +ev value from this, I guess you would just divide the naive +ev value by that factor above (i.e., divide by (1 -.055) = .945 for 10,000,000 other tickets, giving an adjusted +ev of 185,938,186.2).

and of course, cases where you do split the jackpot but still come out ahead
