Smash Rookie
So, this is a second try in trying to join this site (I tried some time during Brawl's lifetime and was driven away by the general attitude of people).
I've been playing Smash for all of the series' life, going all the way back to 64, but I only tried getting truly better at the game during Brawl's short lifetime. I always found it hard because I played Ganondorf and had no real scene here in Laval/Montreal, so I was stuck with playing semi-casual friends while trying to be a casually competitive player, if that makes sense. I'm a Smash 4 player exclusively nowadays and while I'm currently rusty, I lean towards using Pit/Dark Pit and Corrin mainly.
My main problem is that while I definitely understand the theory of the game(s) and I know of BeefySmashDoods and KuroganeHammer's site and all that good stuff, I just really lack practice, experience and exposure to the competitive aspect as a whole when it comes down to it, seeing as how all I've really done is play semi-casual friends and level 9 CPUs with some For Glory on the side. It'd be nice to know of where/when I can watch tournament streams, too, since I have absolutely no exposure to it.
My main goal here is finding people who are willing to help others improve so I can improve myself through real constructive criticism of my gameplay and not just spouting theoretical information that may or may not be correct or useful.
I guess I kind of just want to find a little community to join since I can't seem to find people around where I live that I can stay in contact with.
