Actually had a friendly at the last tourney I went to that managed to be under three minutes so I had a friend upload it for me. I've been playing Diddy since aroudn the start of the month and was hoping you guys could give me some advice. I know I'm still missing some stuff in my overall game, I fail to work in Dtilt as much as I'd like and the Popgun is hardly used cause I haven't gotten used to the angle and distance with it yet.

The only note to this video, I play online alot and IRL only, really, at tourney's. So my timing get's weird. This friendly was part of me adjusting(hence missed catches and the lack of Double Dribble(I can do it, just not super fast. In this vid, at one point I try and just sorta down throw one banana a few times, shrug.)

But anyway, any words of advice on what I'm doing well, or wrong, or whatever?

(And the wolf isn't really bad I just had a strong feeling he had no idea what to do with a Diddy Kong. CT and Ma don't really seem to have any Diddy players from what I've seen in tourneys.)

P.S. I talk/write way more than I need to.

Really, nothing. I know john sorta hard, and it's a bit one sided till the last stock cuase the Wolf really didn't know what to expect from a Diddy, but I really need critiscm.

I'll try to get a few more vids, so you can get a better idea... maybe I'll bring my XD card to a friends in case any of it can be saved.

For future reference, I think Vyse has a general Diddy thread that caters to people who want to post video threads somewhere.

As far as your match goes, it's really incredibly difficult to constructively analyze an online match. I watched it yesterday and could tell that much of the flow of the match was significantly affected by input delay, and the only advice I can offer is to post up more real-time matches and seek out better competition. Yeah, you 3-stocked the guy, but any halfway competent Diddy main can do that in a friendly match against someone who's never had that sort of exposure to glide-tossing before. Other than that you appear to have a decent understand on the glide-toss spacing fundamentals, but I'd have to see you in real-time action to be able to pass accurate judgment.

I think you have a decent diddy here. Slipping to dash attack would've perhaps worked against that Wolf, since he wasn't very good. He overused fsmash and thus was constantly open for a naner to get thrown into his face. No bair sucks too (0:28 = epic fail :( ).

3 stocking that guy...yeah, he was really careless and you didn't fight bad at all. Good DiddyI'd say

Oh, my bad. I really didn't think my video should go in any kind of "Diddy Showcase" like all the boards have, just wanted general advice. And, actually, that is a live match. Just one of the few live matches I have that ever manages to finish in under 3.

My complaints about input lag are more, I have no one in my area to play, so I play online alot and this was my set of friendlies pre-tourney to shake the WiFi Latency actually. So... :(

And, yeah, I didn't post this cause I three stocked him. Not at all, it was clear he was new to fighting Diddy and in later matches got much more used to the overall style. Even later in that match he starts to get the hang of it. This is just the only replay/recording I have of my Diddy. Is all.

very solid diddy maneuvers, good grabbing and banana game. You're very consistent with your fighting, and your spike was beautiful.

but imo, the wolf wasn't very good and should've been able to avoid your banana game more. Another video would make it easier to give critique, but you're also quite a bit better than myself.

Oh, whoops. =) Well, like I said before, your fundamentals seem to be all intact, and you don't have any outright problematic spacing issues from what I can tell, but matches where you lose are much easier to critique than ones where you 3-stock people. =) Hell, if the Wolf player was able to give you a harder time, the entire match would be easier to assess because I would at least be able to see your decision-making process in how your respond to his pressure game. Anyway, see if you can't get back to us with more videos that fit this criteria, and I'm sure we can give you more valuable input.

use grab-jabs, try and save your dsmash for the KO, and perhaps roll less

thats all the criticism i can give until you provide a video with an opponent closer to your skill level

^Rolling, sadly is still an issue I have.

Dsmashing less would be a good idea though. And Fairing less(not sure if I use it alot in this vid but I tend to DA > SHFair a little more than I should since it's a good kill move.

I'll try to scare up some vids that aren't just me 3 stocking, like I said. I tend to not have quick matches sadly.
