Edit: Woops i guess yoshinator put it in his guide *facepalm*

Thought my fellow yoshi's might like this. Its a tech discovered by samurai panda called the dash pivot cancel: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=165720

Anyways, yoshi gets a big slide from this, but also, something yoshi specific. Combined with yoshi's pullback on his fsmash and the backwards slide, this creates a very good defensive fakeout technique. There's sure to be loads of potential in this, and i know that some of you didnt see this thread. I suggest you all at least learn it.

Bigman has found that it works well for a mixup to shield pressure, and just as a sorta fakeout.

yea, it's interesting, but I can't help but feel its uses will be very limited and situational :/
plus, why smash when you can pivot grab and setup a combo? and why use eggs when you could just as easily camp? burntsocks it does look like a useful mixup! but i just don't see this as a game breaking technique, kind of like ganondorfs wizardfoot cancel, its useful, but its hard to pull off and very situational.
if I'm missing something please enlighten me! ;)

at least yoshi can do it best! :D

Just another day.
Actually, Squirtle can do this move the best (he slides the whole stage while yoshi slides 1/4 the way), but Yoshi does it really well. This move takes alot to find the perfect moment to use it correctly. It might prove more useful when you need to get a killing move off, but right now it's not a great move do atm. I'll explore more into it and if I get any good things from it.

lol 5am is nothing, my sleep schedule is broken beyond all hell, 6am average o.O

I agree with this being rather situational. If the opponent's at a high damage then a smash would be more viable. Also don't forget that you can do ANY attack out of it.

don't worry about this already being in the guide, this thread just puts it more out in the open for people to see =)

Any attack you say? Me thinks DPC dtilts would be excellent for spacing, since dtilts got that huge range. And just so you guys know, yoshis initial dash is pretty short, which can be bad, but for this, it lets u do short DPCs. I think it could have alot of potential, though probably situational, especially since u say u can do any move outta it.
