Greetings, Smashers!
Since it’s been a good 4 months since the last blog update, it’s time to liven this place up a bit. We’ll be adding a few new blog contributors in the coming months, along with restructuring how the SSBlog, Swwiki (I just like calling the Smash World Wiki the “swicky”) and Smashboards interact. For those that don’t frequent the seedy underbelly of Smashboards, I’m Scav, former Melee tournament host (who still happens to host a tournament from time to time.)
Assuming all goes according to plan, here are two of the things you can expect to see in the next few weeks:
1) Improved news coverage. Brawl news has slowed to a trickle, but expect this blog to be a reliable news crawl for the latest information. Smashboards is a great resource, but finding new announcements is intimidating. To make this easier, the blog will also link to a discussion thread.
2) Tournament Coverage. Tournaments are the life of the Smash community at the moment. Private fan-run tournaments are increasing in size and number while MLG puts up impressive prizes with professional events. When the next Tier List is voted on, I’ll be sure to announce it here so everyone can go argue about it for no good reason.
3) Discussion topics. As I mentioned above, news is slow. So, to fill in the cold lonely nights, we will also be linking to notable SWF topics, along with some opinion. Ideas like an in-game store or the addition of a spectator mode would make great discussion fodder.
Got an idea for a post? Found a news announcement? Then by all means, send us an e-mail, pm, or comment. Content is a wonderful thing.
