Another Weekday, another Smash Bros Brawl Update. This time it’s regarding The Hero of Time/Seasons/Wind/ect… Link. The update is all about his <a href="http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/basic/basic02.html">Final Smash</a>

<img src="http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/basic/images/basic02/basic02_070529b-l.jpg" alt="a" />

<!--more-->

His Final Smash is rather straightforward.

He shoots the Triforce out of his hand, it hits “his oponents,” which most likely means it’s not a single target, like it was shown in the first trailer.

And then Link leaps to his trapped victims and unloads a barage of slices, finishing of with a hit that sends em flying.

Looks devistating? Sakurai thinks so, with the comment “If you suffer this fate, there is little hope for you. But remember: damage alone will not finish you in Smash. If you’re lucky enough to strike solid ground, you just might be saved.”

More news as it comes, Smash fans!

I wonder how will he strike multiple opponents. Will strike’m all at once or jump back and forth between them? and if the latter is true will strike each one a slash at a time, or finish one and go to the other. Any ideas?

he might line them up and do horizontal or vertical slashes only. or he might slash one a lot then move to the next. Im not sure but Ill bet Sakurai will balance it out.

So this post brings up an interesting point. How many Final Smashes will have an ending blow that has knockback? If Link’s last hit is strong enough to kill at 80%, and the early attack deals 60%, then hitting someone with it will often be fatal.

Likewise, Kirby’s final smash (sticking the opponent in a pot) looks like it just deals a lot of damage.

I’m hoping we see some Final Smashes that do something besides damage and kill. Maybe the Ice Climbers freeze everyone on screen, or Captain Falcon’s makes him move significantly faster.

don’t hate me for mentioning sonic cause i know some people don’t like him, but just like Scav said for Captain Falcon, what if sonic’s FINAL SMASH was him going super sonic and in a blinding yellow flash he starts moving at sonicspeeds dealing a bunch of combos to everyone on the stage.

HEY THOR AXE, it would be cool if sonic’s final smash had him move so fast that everybody else on screen froze, but he could move normally. MATRIX STYLE!

Alright, this is my logic about Link’s smash.

Look at this image right here

ttp://www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/images/link/link_070618a-l.jpg

You see those little dots of light? I believe those are the peices of Link’s Triforce of Courage. He would shoot it off of the back of his arm, and instead of a whole Triforce, it breaks off into 3 peices and flys off quickly to the nearest opponents. Each one that gets caught in it will be temporarily frozen in place.

When either all or at least one is captured, they captured foe(s) are brought together and inprisons them in a group fashion, letting Link charge forth and open that big can of whoopass! XD

Yeah, I believe the finial flash is ment to finish them off, or at least send them flying at a good distance.

Scav:

I’m not so sure.

In the Kirby game, he would wear the cook ability and roast his enemies in a big pot. After cooking them, they turn into food, which helps him heal life life points. in Brawl, they could translate that ability to him. along with doing some damage, his percent could heal to the amount of damage done to the victim.

So in other words, he’ll be the Kid Buu of Brawl if I’m right XD And well, I should be. Just look at what transfered in Melee on Kirby’s abilities!

I think Rockin’s on the right track with what happens after grabbing multiple oponents.

Rockin good point (no comma makes the line funny!).

But, my point is simply that I’d like to see some Final Smashes that don’t deal a lot of damage / hit really hard. So far we’ve seen (in one way or another) Mario’s Super Duper fireball, Samus’ Horizontal Independence Day Blast, Link’s Triforce of Stabby, Pikachu’s Electric Hamster Ball, and Wario’s Silent but Deadly Warcrime.

The only one that is remotely interesting is Pikachu’s. I’ll be sad if Fox’s attack is summoning a bunch of Arwings to shoot at you. Or if Ness just casts a big damage-dealing spell.

Kirby having a healing power worries me, because everybody hates healing. Though it would be a nice touch if after the attack finished, 4-6 food items popped out :p an even nicer touch would be if it counts as Kirby eating the opponent, and he gains his ability.

I’d rather see Luigi release a ghost out of his vacuum cleaner than throw a huge fireball. And I have no idea what Doc would do :p but hopefully it’s more interesting than I THROW A BUNCH OF PILLS.

Scav: Maybe Sakurai hates healing, too. After all, he turned Jiggly Puff’s move into a instant kill weapon XD

Maybe I could be wrong about the healing. It could be Kirby mixing the abilities of one opponent with another. Thus he’ll be able to combine the powers, giving him like….Mario + Samus = Charbable fire Balls that when it hits a wall, explodes and more smaller bouncey fire balls pop out and hit the enemies.

…..you know, I do see Fox calling the Grey Fox and ordering them to shoot a beam at the opponents. He’s just the type of ***** that’d do that XD

never know with Dr. Mario. He could eat a pill that’d give him super strength. Or, hell, it could be that he eats a viagra pill and then does his bowser style Dthrow on his opponents. God, I dunno XDD

The only problem with calling the Great Fox (Grey Fox?) is… if we have a level on the Great Fox, you can’t really call it :p

1. I AM TALKING IN CAPS ‘COS I CAN. (AND TO ADD REF. TO METROID MAN)
2. MARIO’S SMASH MOVE LOOKS THE STRONGEST SO FAR, BUT LINK’S LOOKS… I DON’T KNOW
3. LUIGI WILL DEFINITELY BE IN THE GAME, BUT WILL HIS SMASH BE PRACTICALLY THE SAME AS MARIO’S?
4. NUKE THE WHALES. THEY’D DO THE SAME TO YOU.
5. WHAT WILL SOLID SNAKE’S SPECIAL MOVE BE?
6. (A BIT OFF TOPIC) ON DOJO, A THEME FOR RIDLEY (FROM METROID SERIES) CAN BE PLAYED. DOES THIS MEAN RIDLEY IS IN THE GAME?
7. END OF POST!
