Gbay99, League of Legends content creator on Youtube as well as a streamer for the game created a video today to talk about a different game. Even with the Super Bowl and some great matches from Leauge of Legends going on that weekend he was playing close attention to Apex 2015 and how a specific player reminded him of some very important things.. That player was VGBC | aMSa. Watch his video below to see what he had to say.

SmashCapps loves watching all of the not too often seen characters. Come follow him on Twitter and share some footage of those lesser seen characters!

I still find it almost surreal that aMSa got 5th place at the largest Melee tournament of all time! With Yoshi!

Some of my friends and I were stuck in the next town over, so we pulled out a phone and started streaming apex. When aMSa kept finding ways to win, we would slowly begin to stop caring we were in a public place and just roar our approval. Smash needs more people like that, who make the game that much more fun

aMSa is an amazing player that plays what we thought was one of the worst characters in the game. It's kinda hard not to respect him

So much hype and happiness. The various smash communities need to remember that.

aMSa is awesome, so much respect for him and I love how the crowd still cheered aMSa when he got eliminated from APEX this year. Happy to see someone who challenges the status quo get that much respect from the community!

aMSa is probably my favorite Smash player of all time. I don't think anyone even comes close. Except maybe Hungrybox.

aMSa is one of my biggest Melee inspirations. I played Melee casually a few years ago as a Yoshi main, but when I started to get into the competitive world, I kept Yoshi as my one true main and will continue that. Hopefully I can start to make a name for myself in competitive Melee when I start going out to tournaments, I want to represent the Melee Yoshi as well.

Not only is it fun to see someone ignore tier lists and top play, but it encourages innovative growth in the community. It delays '20XX' as it were.

So have fun with the characters you love!

I love amsa, but the same people who ride his **** for doing well with a low tier are the ones telling Roy mains that he's a "lost cause" and to just pick Marth.

aMSa is an inspiration like no other. He is takes competitions seriously, but he does it without losing sight of his ideals and what he wants. He wants to win using Yoshi. While we have many players nowadays slowly inching use further towards 20XX (even my favorite, Armada), aMSa dedicates his time to winning the way he wants to, which is with Yoshi.

He knows Yoshi's shortcomings, that which Yoshi has many, as Melee Yoshi might even be the worst iteration of Yoshi in Smash, but he uses what Yoshi has in ways that haven't been done before and is almost singlehandedly creating Yoshi in the Melee metagame, something which few took part in previous, with Leffen probably being the previous best Yoshi.

I strongly believe if this 20XX does happen one day, aMSa will be one of few who still stands by their main, as most other top players NOW main at least someone from the top 6, top 5 if Armada is dropping Peach

This is like me with Mr. Game & Watch. He is my main in every game he appears in and that won't be changing.

aMSa is one of my favorite players to watch, and seeing him happy and positive at the end of a set win or lose is great. That attitude should be aspired to by all smash players(Including myself). Something I didn't notice mentioned in the above comments though is I thought Gbay99 did an excellent job explaining competitive Melee to an audience that knew little to nothing about it. I'm glad to see that smash is still picking up steam, and that it is becoming more widely known and respected as a competitive game.

Seeing players destroy with uncommon characters is always amazing. I'm always trying my best with Charizard in Smash 4.

Yeah, about damn time someone got top 8 without the use of an S-tier character. I thought that would never happen. I guess I was a disbeliever after only seeing S-tier characters and absolutley nothing else getting top 8 and such. aMSa, Axe, and DJNintendo are my heroes when Melee is the topic.

I think the best thing about aMSa isn't his skill, or the fact that he plays a low tier. It's his sportsmanship. Like they said in the video, he almost never gets angry, he's always happy to be playing the game he loves, even when he loses. While there are plenty of players out there who will just start spewing johns whenever they lose *cough*leffen*cough* aMSa takes his losses with a smile on his face and the resolve to get better. When he lost to Mango at Apex, he made a Twitter post. What do you think it was? Was it saltiness at losing? Was it him making johns? Nope, it was something along the lines of "Mango and Leffen are such good players, I can't wait to train some more with Yoshi to become as good as them!" aMSa is pretty much the shining example of sportsmanship in the Smash community, and I think he is someone to look up to.

Also, don't forget Plup; he has placed well in a LOT of tournaments with Samus. Also, The GERM is an extremely notable Link player (although his wiki page is a bit lackluster).

Really anyone who doesn't use Fox, Falco, Shiek, Marth, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers, and Peach are my immediate favs in Melee streams. It's just hard to find individuality within the regular players (unless you know they're smash background which makes you a fan of them or they like to use low-tier characters as well as S-tier characters). I mean I don't mean to hate, but it's like the one thing that kind of keeps me watching the stream whenever one stream happens. There's only so much playstyles and shenanigans you can do with a limited amount of 8 characters.

I've rarely been up to hop into Melee streams for the longest time because I'm so bored of watching the S-tier. If I like a player, like peepee at Apex, I'll stay tuned for them. Otherwise, others can simply have their Fox dittos, Marth vs. Fox, Sheik vs. Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers vs. Falco, etc.

That was really heart warming to watch. With all the recent negative/controversial news regarding the Smash community. it's great to see someone highlight the positive side of it. The Smash community may be hateful/antagonistic towards each other but, at the end, we are all Smashers and share in one thing: our love for Smash. That was a good video.
