As someone who played MK for about a week straight to prepare for a tourny, I saw a lot of Tornado vs. projectiles.

It depends on what part of the tornado the projectile hits, what projectile it is.

I've blocked and been hit by Pit's arrow with the tornado at varying percentages.

I honestly don't think percentage has anything to do with it, as that's never been the case with priority.

Priority at the top of the tornado is different from the priority at the bottom.

*shrug*

And it might matter how far into your Tornado you are as the damage changes throughout.

I've been able to block TL Boomerang/Arrow, Pit's Arrow, Mario's/Luigi's Neutral B, Link's Arrow (not sure about his Gale Boomerang), G&W's Frying Pan, Bowser's/Charizard's Fire, Ivysaur's Razor Leaf (not sure bout that one), Pikachus Thunderjolt, Lucario's Aura Sphere if it wasn't charged,..

I've NOT been able to block Bombs, the lasers of the spacies (although Fox' doesn't stop you, it just goes through), PK Fire (both versions), PK Thunder (not sure about that), R.O.B's Laser (also not sure).

So it's not really that feasible to make a list then?

Or if it was, it would be different to my original idea, such as:

[Character]'s Projectiles:
[Projectile 1] - yes/no at top; yes/no at bottom
[Projectile 2] - yes/no at top; yes/no at bottom

Items as Projectiles:
[Item 1] - yes/no at top; yes/no at bottom
[Item 2] - yes/no at top; yes/no at bottom

etc.

Also, I didn't think that how damaged you were affected your attacks' priority, but I read it on some thread, so I asked about it, and I guess I was right initially.

PS. Thanks for those answers, R0cket, I might make the list myself with information gathered from other players... if only I could do it myself :(

I assume (as would be the logical choice) that the top of MT destroys more powerful projectiles, as it is larger than at the bottom.

Anyone care to verify that this is the case?

So far the thread is based solely on R0cket's and kerploplesteesh's input.

I will credit you in the thread if you add any information, and I need some more :)

Okay, first, why is people's projectile Final Smash even considered? If Meta can't even take on a fully charged Samus Blaster or Link's fully charged arrows, then I highly doubt he'll take on -any- final smashes. They're called -Final- Smashes for a reason, people ><

second, I'll provide a list of blockable and unblockable projectiles in a few minutes

I know most Final Smashes wont be able to be blocked, but I know for a fact that Yoshi's fireballs from his FS can be, since I've seen a video of it happen a couple of times in 1 FS.

I remember reading somewhere that it blocks up to a certain percentage... and if that percentage exceeds the limit, it will come through the tornado. But maybe I'm crazy. I really don't remember where I read this...

That fact is true in a sense. the proof is Link's arrows. I'll explain.

I got the game, so I was able to test this. and yes, Yoshi's FS flames can be blocked, but not his fireballs.

anyway

Link's arrows (while not charge) can be blockable against Meta's tornado. Link's Fully charged arrow can cut through Meta's tornado because of the increase knockback power. Diddy's peanut popper, although both shot and fully charged, cannot cut through meta's tornado.

now, here's a list of confirmed blockable and unblockable moves

-Mario-
His fireball - Blockable
His F.L.U.D.D. blockable

-Link-

Boomberang - blockable
Arrow - blockable
Arrow (fully charged) - unblockable
Bombs - unblockable

-Samus-
blaster - blockable
Blaster ( fully charged) -unblockable
Super Missile - unblockable
Bombs -unblockable

-Pit-
light Arrows - blockable
light arrows (fully charged) - unblockable

-Zelda/Shiek -

Din's Fire - unblockable
Shiek' needles - blockable

- Zero Suit Samus -

paralyzer - blockable

Diddy Kong

Peanut Popper - blockable
Peanut popper - blockable
Banana Peel - unblockable (makes you trip)

that's all for now. also any projectile that's on or over 18% of damage is unblockable.

You forgot entirely about Olimar and his Pikmin smashes, which I just tested.

All of his smash attacks with all pikmin are blocked by Tornado, though the purple pikmin still try to go through, they won't hurt you.

Olimar's Fspecial is blocked regardless of pikmin except Purple, but again, the purple cannot hurt you even if it goes through the tornado.

Olimar's Uspecial(not sure if this is to be regarded as a projectile or not) is unblockable in any scenario/regardless of what Pikmin is at the end of the rope.

----------

Ice climber's Neutral special is blocked while the Dspecial is not blockable.

----------

Kirby's Uspecial is unblockable

----------

Peach's turnip(normal smile turnip) is blockable, but it stops the tornado each time.
The surprise face and bored face and super-happy faced and winky-face turnips do the same thing. The Mr. Saturns she pulls out are the same way as well.

The large smiley face with beady eyes is unblockable
The dead one is unblockable.

---------

Pikachu's Dspecial is neither blockable from the top nor from the side.

---------

Ivysaur's neutral special is unblockable while his Uspecial is blockable, but it stops the tornado

---------

Snake's Neutral special is occasionally blockable, and it occasionally explodes on impact regardless of how much it's been baked.
His Fspecial is blockable
His Usmash is blockable

And that's all the research I've done on it.

I decided to leave things like whips and tethers out, for example Olimar's up B and Zamus' up B.

Also, could you clarify which of Olimar's smashes use Pikmin?

And thanks for the info :)

All of his smashes fling pikmin at you in one way or another.

And Ivysaur's Uspecial(which you requested) is a tether move. Vine whip which latches you to the edge of a stage. It's nearly identical to Olimar's Uspecial.

Yes, I realised that just after I posted. :)

I have removed it now, since it's not really a projectile.

I've updated it with your information and credited you at the bottom.

Guide's almost finished now thanks to information contributions.

I only need the following now:
- Giga Bowser's fire breath
- Diddy's shots from his final smash
- DDD's stars from his up B and his FS
- Both forms of PK Starstorm
- Pit's FS
- R.O.B's down B (charged and uncharged) and his FS
- Sonic's falling spring from up B
- Yoshi's egg throw (up B) and the stars from his down B

Also, I will start to make an items as projectiles section after I've finished the character's attacks one.

Wario does have a projectile. He can get on his bike, ride at you, and jump off, causing it to still go at you.

Apparently if the projectile would cause damage greater than 18%, it will push through the shield and damage Meta Knight. Alternatively, if the projectile is 18% or less, the Mach Tornado will stop the projectile and will continue moving along uninterrupted.
I find two problems with this.

1. Peach's turnips(among a few other projectiles) cause the tornado to stop, while still being blocked, which adds at least a third requirement.

2. Purple pikmin, though they normally do more than 18% in a smash, will not damage you, nor will they stop your tornado.

Hmmm...
I think I'll give the purple pikmin a special mention, along with peaches turnips; that way no special categories have to be declared.

I'll put Wario's bike in then I guess, do you know whether MT can block it?

And thanks for that Ice9 :)

Haven't experimented with it that much, but I think the Mach Tornado has a pretty high priority, as well, since you can actually out-prioritize some of Ike's sword attacks. This needs further investigation, but I can't be bothered. :p

I need someone to test some final smashes:
- Giga Bowser's fire breath
- Diddy's Rocketbarrel Barrage peanut gun shots
- DDD's Waddle Dee Army
- Lucas and Ness' PK Starstorm
- Pit's Palutena's Army
- R.O.B's Diffusion Beam

Also, a few other attacks:
- DDD's throw when a waddle doo spawns (the one with electricity)
- Ness' PK Flash
- Lucas' PK Freeze
- R.O.B's gyro (100% charged and 0% charged)
- Sonic's up B when the spring falls on you
- Wario's side B when the bike hits you after he jumps off
- Yoshi's up B (egg throw)

Thanks for everyone's help so far :)

I'm not sure whether this is sticky-worthy. At a guess I would say it was, since I havn't seen any similar information anywhere.

If it is, how do you apply to get a sticky? Or do I need to just wait for an admin to see it? (Maybe it has to be finished first?)

I'm going to have to rely on others getting this information for me until I get a copy of the game, and since NO ONE (not even reliable old Nintendo) has a clue when it's coming out in Europe, I have no idea how long I have to rely on you lot for ;)

As soon as I get the game, I'll test everything for myself as it'll be easier, but until then: PLEASE HELP!

I've made a list of the pokemon & assist trophies, and a list of the items that could be destroyed by MT.

If I've missed anything (which I'm pretty sure I have, as I got all my info off the official site which leaves some info out), or if you have something else to contribute, please do so :)

G&W's neutral b CAN knock you out of Meta's neutral b, or at least it has happened to me. I think it was because an arcing piece of food came down on top of me where there are no hitboxes for the move. I don't have the specifics on this but I'm almost positive it's true.
