Look, if you would of have listened to "SHOW ME YOUR NEWS!!" You would of heard my voice way before. Let's get over the voice and get to what really matters.

That Nintendo Rep knew nothing. But the fact he sent the Sonic thing to Consumer Feedback made me wonder if it could really be true.

Of if that guy is just an idiot.

"Here's my phone number:"

*loud scary noises ensue... After it finally finishes*

"Do you need my area code too?"

*loud scary noises*

I'm the biggest lame of all time? Is that an insult >.<

I just used my MP3 Player to record a phone call. Just hold it close to the phone, xD.

I wonder if I can use the vid function on my camera to record the sound...

I don't have a MP3 player...

I will call if I can figure something out though. =P

The guy who assisted you is obviously less than 25 years old. He either seemed disgusted with you, or just didn't know what he was supposed to say in response. Nice attempt though..:)

Call Iwata next time. Be sure to have an interpretor with you too if you don't speak Japanese~

Screw that, I'd call Sakurai himself. But I don't know his Number.

I'm just surprised you actually expected real answers. These people are customer service people, not rumor experts, nor are they knowledge goldmines; I doubt they know any more than you do because any one of us could be working there after some training. Notice that the first options on the phone were "Wii issues," "DS Wifi issues," and "other DS issues," but the 4th wasn't "rumor debunking and other crap you find on the internet and hear from your friends." He offered to forward your feedback and numerous complaints to the higher-ups, which is nice, but I doubt it would get very far. They've got way better things to do as a company. Basically what you just did would be like calling up a Microsoft Windows service representative, and expecting them to know everything about their magazines, software updates, and unreleased content. They're regular people like you and me.

Mind you, calling him an idiot, in my opinion, was both uncalled for and hypocritical, considering you obviously didn't know the questions to your own questions (so therefore you're in no superior position). Regardless, you even said you "didn't blame him" because he was just a customer service representative immediately afterwards.

Wow.... there is no way I am going to call Nintendo for answers.
GOOD! It's a f'ing troubleshooting line. Not an ask for the lastest info, inside information, make special requests, or pitch a game idea line. At least the TC said he was trying to clarify if they actually could make a dif by calling a lot, which sounds like a valid enough reason to me (answer: no, it won't make a dif), as well a few other valid questions about Nintendo in general.

The rep sounded like he's new. I'm sure they're hiring tons of people, as the holidays are right around the corner.

Also, Sonic = Sega character so they have all the rights to his character. People aren't even calling the right company to complain.

And the old voice actor isn't even better than the new one. To my ears (listening on youtube, which of course isn't the best quality) they sound equal in some cases and the old one sounds like a cheesy 90s cartoon (wonder why) in other cases.

The rumors you mentioned will have to go through Iwata before they reach Sakurai....
Brawl isn't being made by just Sakurai himself you know...(though everyone on these boards thinks that way.<_<)

I know, but I mean, what are we gonna say. "I MUST TALK TO THE GRAPHIC DESIGNER AT SORA ABOUT THESE HORRIBLE COLOR SCHEMES!" No, we just say Sakurai, xD.

And no, I'm not complaining. I dont think we can complain, I mean. We was gonna get Melee 2.0. Now we're getting Brawl. No Complaints.

"People found pages that claim Characters and Stages and such will be in Brawl. To make this clear, nothing is officially confirmed till shown on the Dojo, right?"

What do you speak of?

I've had similar conversations with Nintendo Reps. It blows my mind how little they know.

I've come to the conclusion that they're all Xbox Fanboys. That or they're too used to answering the question "What is a Wii?" and not real questions.

I don't think any reps for any company ever know anything useful, really. Just troubleshooting stuff. That guy was obviously no exception. Even worse is that he seemed totally uninterested in helping you. It didn't even seem like he was paying attention to you.

hehe but I gotta admit, I found that conversation more funny, than anything else.

"I'm a Nintendo fanboy so I know about that kind of stuff... um.. continue."
"............... say what?"
"I said continue."
"......what?"
"NOTHING I JUST SAID CONTINUE."
"oh... th-that's all I got..."

That part had me rolling. XD

I'm really REALLY hoping that NP releases a demo disc with Brawl on it though. That would be the best Christmas present ever. Either that or that Nintendo surprises us with a demo channel for Brawl. With actual PLAYABLE demos. Not that video crap. Like we haven't seen every single video of Brawl ever made already. Ha..

I'm sorry, but I think it's lame that you asked such strict questions to a customer service guy. All he should know is things such as how the wii shop might work, wiiimote issues, upcoming game releases, etc. Your questions were meant for the someone like the president of Brawl or something. Even if you did ask Sakurai, why would spoil his secrets to an average caller like you. If he were to answer questions of such caliber, he'd tell it to NP or post it on the Dojo. I hope you really weren't expecting to get any of your questions answered. If this was a joke, it was pretty rude, because it sounded like you were harassing this guy with questions an average gamer wouldn't know. Not everybody knows the rumors we know here on the boards.

If I were working at Apple, I'd be pissed off if someone called in asking me about future models, upcoming features, fan-based rumors, etc. It may not be that I don't know, but it's could be the fact that I'm not allowed to tell, know what I mean?

If you think I'm taking this too seriously, then I'm sorry. I'm just looking at it from the point of view of the guy you called.

In all truth, I tried to come up with General Questions, but I can see where your coming from.

I still say he could of answered the first question I asked him. About Sonic and the Voice Actor thing, cause I mean, he would be the one getting the calls.

I feel bad that you guys ask these hard questions to mere customer service reps. They don't know anything about Brawl's development. :(

See, but that's why there's the internets.

If I was a Nintendo Rep, which I plan to be, I'd do some homework and find out what's circulating online so that I could provide the best customer service.

That doesn't make any sense. By scanning the Internet, you would simply respond with, "Yes, I have heard about that. No, I still can't tell you anything." >_<

Hm, this is a nice attempt, but like previous attempts with previous companies, it seems like the basic level 1 guy doesn't know too much about a certain thing. Usually, all they have is a computer with stuff like estimated shipping time, routing calls to other places, and basic info like how to boot up stuff. They aren't paid to learn this stuff..

The higher ups definately have knowledge, but with a company that tries to keep secrets as well as Nintendo does, it would be quite a shock for them to give out advanced knowledge to simple Q & A guys.

...You sound like Fogell/McLovin from Superbad, no offense.

But yeah, calling Nintendo reps for information outside what they're trained to tell you is like squeezing water from a rock.

Even people like Reggie Fils-Aime probably know nothing except what is fed to them by the press people. Even the press people only know what the developers choose to reveal.

It's not like the people answering the phone are the ones who are really going to know a lot of Nintendo stuff - they're just the first level grunts, possibly the only thing below beta testers. Even if they DID know something, they would be under contract not to say.

This whole thing was pointless, sorry.
