The last fortnight has been really amazing news-wise. Final Smashes, New characters, New storyline…it’s always tough to impress the masses, especially those that focus on the competitive side of Smash. Today we have another update for the casual crowd: the Smoke Ball.

“What does it do?” I hear you cry. Well as the name implies, it’s a ball of smoke. You throw it and then smoke comes out. It doesn’t do any damage, but it does block parts of the screen. Great for hiding any mines/gooey bombs thrown [editor note: or banana peels!], good for hiding while charging attacks, or just generally annoying other people.

It’s not stuck to the ground, so you can pick it up and run with it.

I can’t wait to be Wario shield myself in smoke then come flying out in my motorcycle crashing into enemys.

I can see some pretty interesting stategies coming out of this weapon. Of course the best in smash should be able to work through it. It’s little more than the blooper of brawl.

Wait there is white and red in the screens, different colors 4 different users like P1 = WHITE, P2 = RED. Ya think?

homelessvagrant: Yup. The Mario Kart DS blooper was an amazing item. What seemed to be just an annoyance turned into an excellent counter. You can’t dodge what you can’t see.

People are thinking way too much into this. It’s more then likely just a random color. If you want to speculate then maybe different conditions alter the possibility of getting certain colors? Perhaps Fantastic Stages and such?

Anyway this item looks great and I can only hope that a character gets this as a move. Perhaps a Sheik smokescreen? I’unno, but here’s hoping!

Well, we’ll be able to crawl in the game with certain chracters, maybe we can hide and sneak up on opponenyts, give them an uppercut (even though you can’t uppercut). The last picture doesn’t have an entertaining comment under it :(

yep and u were right,,, and the people talking about colors
maybe some of the colors are overlaps to make more variety of the basic colors

My kind of item, I will annoy all my friends; Why not charge up for a smash move under the cover of smoke.

looks like a really fun item, I can see myself being Wario, storing up that fart attack of his, making a huge smokescreen and then BLASTING OFF.

hey has any one noticed it looks like a disco ball? its like a rock show the disco ball comes down and smoke comes out of the side of the stage… any ways, it looks like a really anoying item. imagen a smash ball coming down right into the middle of the smoke… ;)

It’s kind of lame that it can’t do ANY damage.

For instance… what if it were flammable?

Once the ball has already been thrown, does it still let smoke out if you pick it up and walk with it?

Thinking the same thing. In real life, it’d probably hurt to get smacked in the face with a smoke bomb.

I guess, logically, it would hurt if it gets chucked at your face. I think what it means is that the actual gas doesn’t hurt you.

about kirby… if he absorbs meta knight he will probably have the mask on the top of his head not his face…
any ways, what happens to the bomb when it runs out of smoke… does it just vanish or does it explode in a big thing of smoke… and when does the smoke go away?

Sneaky: I did, but with the formatting, I accidently had it so it wouldn’t display. It’s been fixed.

Monkey: A Rave is like a Disco, but with less bad clothing and more thumping bass and smoke machines and so forth.

I think this item was put in considering Snake’s unique attack style. Sneak and destroy. Also this item could be to help build up the crawl ability.

THIS HAPPENS TO ME TOO. SOMETIMES THE SITE WONT LOAD AND WONT BE ABLE TO LOAD FOR OVER AN HOUR..
I USED TO THINK THAT IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE UPDATING IT WITH A NEW THREAD, BUT I CHECKED AGAIN LATER ONE TIME AND THERE WAS NO CHANGE SO I DUNNO.
OH, AND WHEN IS THIS SITE GUNNA ME UPDATED,
GRAPHICLY I MEAN.
I THOUGHT YOU GUYS SAID A WHILE AGO YOU WERE CHANGING THE LOOK.
