YOU HAVE VISITED THE THREAD OF THE MOSQUITO OF GREAT GAINS!
SUPPORT HIM AND BE BLESSED WITH GREAT GAINS AND IVS AND FABULOUS POSES!
YOU HAVE 1.0000000000000000000.1 SECONDS TO SUPPORT!

WHAT IS A BUZZWOLE?!
"Buzzwole is an Ultra Beast that resembles a large, red, anthropomorphic mosquito. It has bulging muscles that appear to be made out of sacs that are filled with a red fluid that has small white bubbles rising in it. These muscles also have white "veins" running through them, and are said to be stronger than steel. There are also black spikes on Buzzwole's body, particularly its shoulders, elbows and knees. Its head is small and flat, with two red compound eyes, and two black, spherical basal joints for its red and black antennae between them. Protruding from under these joints is a long, silver proboscis, which is said to be as hard as diamond. It has four legs without feet and two pairs of orange, translucent wings.

According to the Aether Foundation, its most notable feature is its ability to strengthen itself. By absorbing the energy of its foes, it triggers a chemical reaction within its body fluids that causes its muscles to grow at explosive rates. Buzzwole appears to strike bodybuilding poses before it performs any sort of action; this is thought to be its main form of communication, but what it could be trying to communicate is not understood." - Bulbapedia's Description

WHY WOULD A BUZZWOLE BE IN A SMASH GAME?!
- Ultra Beasts are fairly new to the Pokemon Franchise and are quite well known and liked throughout the community.
- Buzzwole is among the most recognized Ultra Beast from the many internet and community jokes about it.
- Buzzwole would bring the Bug typing with it, a Typing that is unrepresented in the Smash Brother's games and would allow for more unique moves to implement into it's moveset.

HOW WOULD A BUZZWOLE PLAY IN A SMASH GAME?!

Enjoy~!

SUPPORTERS OF THE MIGHTY BUZZWOLE, BLESSED WITH MANY GOOD GAINS THEY ARE!

Ah, the bara mosquito.
I support but only if 90% of its moveset is bodybuilder poses with accidental hitboxes.
Replace bobybuilder poses with general modeling poses, and that sounds like a moveset for a Style Savvy rep. :p
That'd never happen though.
Then again...:4wiifit:

I don't wanna derail this thread, but god a Style Savvy rep would be fantastic. Stiletto boomerang, photo finish stun attack, show-me-the-outfit turnaround counter, it would be wonderful. Catch me going head to head against Cloud with a handbag.
Back to Buzzwole, it'll likely have that vicious power drain attack from the concept art as an attack, Could probably be a command grab but only healing like 4% each time to balance it out.

Here's my incomplete moveset concept for Buzzwole (I only have the Specials):

Neutral Special: Leech Life
Buzzwole attempts to grab an opponent. If Buzzwole succeeds, it will puncture the opponent with its proboscis and start drinking their blood.
The longer Buzzwole is able to drink before the opponent breaks free, the more health it heals and the more its muscles/blood sacs swell up and glow with energy that is stored, increasing both attack strength and knockback resistance. When Kirby uses this, he only heals.

Side Special: Hammer Arm
Buzzwole performs a Broly-inspired flying lariat that muscles through anything in its way. If the button is held, Buzzwole will continue to fly forward until the button is let go or it runs out of stored energy from Leech Life.

Up Special: Lunge
Buzzwole squats down and lunges upward with fists to the sky. If the button is held, Buzzwole will keep rising until the button is let go or it runs out of stored energy from Leech Life.

Down Special: Endure
Buzzwole pumps up and braces itself in place, during which time it will tank hits with super armor. If the button is held, Buzzwole will keep bracing itself until the button is let go or it runs out of stored energy from Leech Life.

Final Smash: Beast Barrage

A cinematic one like Captain Falcon, Mega Man, Shulk, and Duck Hunt.
An Ultra Wormhole appears beside Buzzwole, sucking in any nearby opponents. They are transported to Ultra Space, where they are swarmed by all seven Ultra Beasts, with Buzzwole dealing the final blow via Focus Punch.

To put in perspective, Buzzwole would be the largest playable Pokémon if it were to hypothetically be a newcomer.

Charizard is 5'07", Mewtwo is 6'07", Buzzwole is 7'10".
He big (but not TOO big).

Buzzwole is so glorious. He would be awesome and potentially silly based on how they implement flexing. Add me to the supporter list.

I don't care if it's in Smash or Pokken, BuffMosquito needs to show up in some fighter. It's too perfect.

Smash would be funniest with almost every action being a pose/flex.

EDIT: Besides, Meta Knight approves. :p

I was kind of wondering when this support thread would be made.

Anyway, if Buzzwole were to be considered, I see it being a brute force type of fighter, but its power would be offset by slow mobility.

I'm not entirely sure how likely he'll be, but I'd be lying if I said he wasn't on my wish list. This guy became my #1 favorite Pokemon the minute I laid eyes on him, and I'd be all for him being in Smash.

DANG RIGHT I want Buzzwole in this game!

I feel like Buzzwole would be one of these characters that starts off with twice the damage output of Marth, but if you hit someone with your proboscis, you'll be able to increase your attack power. Do it enough times and you'll theoretically hit harder than Monado Buster Shulk.

Lately, I've been trying to do up some concepts on how Beast Boost could work for Buzzwole, and I may have a few ideas in mind...

Beast Boost would temporarily boost Buzzwole's attributes, depending on which situation it is in. First up is its defense, where the amount of damage it has affects its damage taken multiplier, along with the amount of knockback it receives. And how long the boost will last is also dependent on how strong the defense boost is. A blue aura will cover Buzzwole whenever Beast Boost increases its defenses.
Current Damage Range | Damage Taken Multiplier | Knockback Taken Multiplier | Duration
0% - 24% | 1x | 1x
25% - 49% | 0.9375x | 0.975x | 120 frames
50% - 74% | 0.875x | 0.95x | 240 frames
75% - 99% | 0.8125x | 0.925x | 360 frames
100% - 124% | 0.75x | 0.9x | 480 frames
125% - 149% | 0.6875x | 0.875x | 600 frames
150% - 174% | 0.625x | 0.85x | 720 frames
175% - 199% | 0.5625x | 0.825x | 840 frames
200% - 224% | 0.5x | 0.8x | 960 frames
225% - 249% | 0.4375x | 0.775x | 1080 frames
250% - 274% | 0.375x | 0.75x | 1200 frames
275% - 299% | 0.3125x | 0.725x | 1320 frames
300% - 999% | 0.25x | 0.7x | 1440 frames
In terms of offense, Buzzwole can temporarily increase the amount of damage it deals by using Leech Life on opponents. How strong the attack boost will be depends on how heavy the target is, with heavier targets giving Buzzwole a stronger attack boost. The boost is temporary, however, only lasting up to 480 frames, but the duration can be extended if Buzzwole uses Leech Life on another opponent.

However, the damage dealt bonus will change, depending on the last target Buzzwole used Leech Life on, so if Buzzwole uses Leech Life on Bowser, followed by Jigglypuff, it would end up using the weaker damage dealt bonus; using Leech Life on Jigglypuff would overwrite the damage dealt bonus that Buzzwole received after using Leech Life on Bowser. A red aura will cover Buzzwole whenever Beast Boost increases its attack power.
Weight Range | Damage Dealt Multiplier
0 - 69 | 1x
70 - 79 | 1.05x
80 - 89 | 1.1x
90 - 99 | 1.15x
100 - 109 | 1.2x
110 - 119 | 1.25x
120 - 129 | 1.3x
130 - 139 | 1.35x
140+ | 1.4x
As for Leech Life itself, it would operate much like a grab move, with Buzzwole trying to grab someone. The attack would ignore super armor and shields, and deals a set amount of damage, based on the target's weight. The heavier the target, the more damage Buzzwole will deal, and half of the damage dealt will heal Buzzwole along the way. The release would deal an additional 2% damage, but offers good knockback to make up for it. Leech Life will only make Beast Boost increase Buzzwole's attack power, after the target is released. On a final note, Buzzwole receives super armor after grabbing a fighter, and if performed in the air, Buzzwole will keep itself airborne while absorbing its target.
Weight Range | Total Damage Dealt | Damage Healed
0 - 74 | 10% | 5%
75 - 79 | 11% | 5.5%
80 - 84 | 12% | 6%
85 - 89 | 13% | 6.5%
90 - 94 | 14% | 7%
95 - 99 | 15% | 7.5%
100 - 104 | 16% | 8%
105 - 109 | 17% | 8.5%
110 - 114 | 18% | 9%
115 - 119 | 19% | 9.5%
120 - 124 | 20% | 10%
125 - 129 | 21% | 10.5%
130 - 134 | 22% | 11%
135 - 139 | 23% | 11.5%

Mario & Sonic Guy Mario & Sonic Guy I like the idea, but I don't agree with Beast Boost attack scaling based on the opponent's weight. Heavyweights in Smash Bros. are already hit with an absurd amount of artificial penalties, despite weight being a self-balancing mechanic, and as a result are almost always underpowered. This would just be another nail in their coffin. How about basing it on the enemy's %?

The reason why Leech Life's damage output is weight dependent is so that Buzzwole won't be so overpowering against lightweight fighters. Even the damage multiplier bonus that it gets from using Leech Life on lightweights would be rather low, receiving no bonus at all if the target fighter's weight value is less than 70.

Let's say that Buzzwole's forward smash has a base damage value of 20. If it uses Leech Life on Mr. Game & Watch (whose weight is set to 75), Beast Boost would only give it a 1.05x damage multiplier, increasing the forward smash's base damage output to 21%. That small increase may enable Buzzwole to KO Mr. Game & Watch sooner, but only by a small amount.

Basically, we're talking about a fighter who prefers to battle heavyweights if it wants to get the best possible damage multipliers. So while the lightweights may be easy to send flying, Buzzwole would have to put in more effort into defeating them, due to Beast Boost only giving it weaker damage boosts after using Leech Life on them.

And before I forget, I do see Buzzwole being a heavyweight fighter, with a weight value of 128. This in return, would result in Buzzwole outranking Donkey Kong as the second heaviest standard fighter in the series; it would only be lighter than Bowser (and possibly King K. Rool). And with a weight value that high, in a mirror match scenario, Buzzwole would receive a 1.3x damage multiplier if it manages to Leech Life the other Buzzwole.

I'd love to have Buzzwole in,. While Incineroar is my favorite, I would love have Buzzwole come alongside it, and even would be fine if it were the sole Alolan Pokemon fighter. It's just such a fun design that you can't help but love, and that's coming from a guy who absolutely despises bugs.

People are sleeping on Buzzwole. Would be a great addition to the roster. UBs were a huge part of Sun and Moon, and if any of them were to be playable, Buzzwole would be legit.

Was thinking more about this today. Having a leech life move that involves him sucking health out of other characters would be very cool.

Of course I'd love Buzzwole. But it doesn't have a chance. Buzzwole is probably in my top 5 favorite Pokemon. Or top 10 if not.

I did make a concept about Leech Life a couple posts back, but the idea of its damage output being weight dependent might leave a sour taste for some people if Leech Life is more damaging against heavyweights.

I definitely support Buzzwole! Between his ability to improve his own stats and his tendency to flex at every opportunity, he'd be both super fun to play and spectate. If he made it in, I'd be so excited to use him against all of my friends who don't play Pokemon. Their reactions to a giant, buff mosquito flexing at them would be hilarious.

Also, I wonder if Buzzwole would receive a unique series icon/victory theme. It's just so different from all of the other Pokemon reps that it almost belongs in a class of its own. Granted, it isn't actually a spinoff like Yoshi's Island or something, so maybe that would be a bit too much. If that did happen, though, I could definitely see a Beast Ball as a likely candidate.
