That would be pretty cool....Alot better to have three options than link's one dumb taunt. I don't happen to care for it.

Obvouisly if the developers don't have time for it, it would be much better spent elsewhere but would be pretty cool

yeah adding taunt would be nice. maybe they can do it like certain that would show respect the opponent.

Respect taunt, winnin Pose taunt, rude/disrespect taunt, clumsy taunt(??). I dunno those would be the words for them but I would like for it to be specific instead of it being random.

Its a small detail, but I hope each character has 4 different taunts. I mean the + in the last game served only that purpose, might as well have 3 others to choose from.
What if they use one of those D-pad buttons for the Super Smash? That's what purpose I think they should serve.

I think that the D-pad can be used better then for 4 taunts. They can do hell of a lot more with it, just like with the 2 jump buttons(if you don't count ^ on the Analoge).

That's not a bad idea. I think it could be like someone said already where you have some taunts to praise your opponent, and some to put them down. I think that would be pretty neat. Or even some taunts could do something to power up your character. Like if Mario uses one of his taunts his attack power goes up for a short time or something.

With four directions on the D-pad, I don't see why this can't happen. The only problem is that if some taunts are longer than others, and if you accidently hit the long taunt and meant to hit the short taunt...
They'd have to make all taunts a similar length.
The other problem is coming up with four seperate taunts without making any particularly annoying ones that'll get overused.

Maybe they can add some special efeects to there taunts like luigi's taunt inflicts 1% damage, young links long taunt can be paid of by decreasing your damage by 1%.

This is a good idea. But I think that it would be even better if the character had controll of the taunts too. After all, they are the ones doing the taunt. The character would not taunt by themself when there is a chance of being attacked and taunts should be cancelable.

Another intresting thought would be combat dialouge. For example, Fox shouts "Get off my stage!" after a successful shinespike. As long as the dialouge isnt repetitive and comes out at the right times, it would be a very nice addition.

Well, Fox and Falco actually have two taunts, somewhat... You know the trick on Corneria/Venom... but yes, utaunts, dtaunts, rtaunts and ltaunts sounds cool! Ganondorf could have one where he is his monsterform from OoT in a lightblink! Pichu could have one that damaged him! LOL, not really...

Wow! Post nr 100! ...Like anybody cares...

Simple just move the analog or jump/attack to cancel the taunt so you won't be punish.

I think that's a good idea. I liked that in Wrestlemania 2000 for 64. You could do 4 different ones and maybe they could power you up, like someone said earlier. And you could have different ones for different situations, like trying to give your opponent props or trying to make them look stupid. I also think they shouldn't be cancellable. If you make the mistake of doing a taunt when you're about to get hit then that's your own fault. But it's not a necessity, so if they have some extra time before the game comes out it would be a nice addition.

But cancelling taunts is a bad idea. There's nothing more enjoyable than hitting an opponent who taunted at the wrong time.

Air taunts are good. More dialogue in-game is bad.

I like the idea of having more taunts. I liked it that Pichu could do two taunts. It made him cool to play as. I hope they add more taunts to the game.

wow. talk about bringing back the dead.

I still want more dialouge (see first post on this page). "Come on!" gets old after a while.

No, I hope they waste the few buttons the control has, on some useless taunts.

I dont know what controller you're using bro, but the gamecube controller has plenty of buttons to spare. 3 to be exact. I mean what else should we use D<, DV, and D> for?

Let's not forget that the x, y, and ^(control stick) all do the same thing too, so that's potentialy 5 buttons so far that could be used for something else. That was a pretty silly comment, Gavi

But the problem with using x, y, or the ^ control stick for something else is those are all used for jumping, and some people use X (like me), some use Y, and some use up. I don't want X used for taunting and then have to learn how to jump with Y.

Oh, and I think this four taunt idea is genius.

Here is a good bump. Ice Climbers might have 2 taunts from fridays update.

I'd like to see Link bring both of his ssb taunts into brawl.
I could care less if his melee taunt came back. It was so lame. I'm hoping that the 64 taunt makes an appearance. That one was badass. If they get rid of Young Link I think drinking Lon Lon Milk should be another taunt for Link (that taunt was also pretty badass).

Nah, Link's taunt should be his awesome sword-spinny sword sheath he does in Twilight Princess after you've successfully pulled off his Mortal Draw move. That would be an AWESOME taunt.

With the Ice Climbers showing off both their old taunt and some sort of happy victory pose in two of their screenshots, I wouldn't say multiple taunts like this are too unfeasible. I approve this idea, it'd be fun at least. I'd rather them not assign important commands to specific d-pad locations, those are annoying and imprecise.

I'm supportive of the idea, but is anyone thinking of the different control schemes? The classic and gamecube controllers are pretty much identical, but how would you taunt four ways using the wii remote?

Hell Yes.
