Four eastern Pennsylvania teenagers face disorderly conduct charges after police say they staged a fake kidnapping in a store parking lot.

Police in Whitehall say the teens filmed the staged event and planned to put the video on YouTube.

Officers swarmed the parking lot of a Kmart store in Whitehall shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday after a woman reported seeing a man get tied up and thrown in the trunk of a car.

Police say they located the car a short time later and got the man out of the trunk.

But they say they quickly determined that all four people involved were teenagers videotaping a prank they planned to put on YouTube.

All four teens are charged with disorderly conduct.

If they wanted to stage a kidnapping in a parking lot, they should've let the owner of the lot this was going on, cause I know in order to film anything on public property, you have to get expressed consent from the person who's in charge of the establishment. It's nothing more than a legal thing AND a matter of respect.

I have nothing against what the teens did, I just frown upon the fact that they didn't let anyone know that this was completely innocent.

Everyone wants there 15 mins of fame, being the next viral vid on youtube is one avenue.

Good to see people actually care enough to call for help instead of shrugging it of and not getting involved.

I don't see why they should be charged with a crime. The worst they did was waste the police's time, and most of the things police do are a waste of time anyway, so I don't see why this is any different. I'd rather the police wasted their time investigating a fake kidnapping than waste it harassing citizens with BS tickets.
