30 Characters by December 3rd

For a while now, we've been getting one character every week on the smashbros.com updates. There's 17 more weeks left until December 3rd, and 14 character updates so far. If this continues, there will be exactly 31 characters on the website by December 3rd, but I think this is probably more likely to be 30, as Sakurai doesn't seem to be the sort of person to reveal anything that wasn't an important How to Play update or a Game Mode, as that just seems more like "last week" updates to me (eg. online play, etc).
Now that we know he's willing to unveil new characters on the website straight away, without a prior trailer, I imagine we can see about 8 more newcomers, and 8 more veterans.
I think the updates would probably look something like this, with the later Veterans being characters you wouldn't expect to return, like Mr. G&W or Mewtwo:

i noticed that too good job but there will most likely at least be 40 im not sure you say that there will only be thirty but don't forget that there is a great chance that he wouldn't reveal
the hidden characters cause it will make the less exciting if they told me then if I found out by myself.
i think that they want us to be surprised by that time we will be so excited about the game coming out that the updates wont make too much of a difference.

I'd actually debate the recent one--I think z-suit only had one week in between her and the last newcomer simply because she's less of a new "character", but an extention of an original.

I'm having doubts. Would he even update the site anymore? I mean, everyone's going to be locked away in their rooms playing Brawl for as long as humanly possible, and barely anyone will still be checking for updates.

I don't know...Maybe they'll reveal more than one character every week?

We all know he wont follow a distinct pattern like that. He'll most likely just do them at the most random of times to keep people wondering. Also, I'm expecting him to at least update till the new year.

Likely! Either 30 characters total, 30 characters revealed and 10 secret, or maybe they'll possibly update once in a while with two returning characters (such as Captain Falcon and Ness in a week).

I think Sakurai will give us updates on all of the starter characters, and some of the early unlockable characters, like Luigi and Jigglypuff, but he'll no doubt leave a few for people to find on their own. I don't think he'll only update starter characters, because the character updates would run out, and he'd have to fill it up with items, which would frankly be extremely dull.

But you have to remember that Sakurai said that HE wants to reveal all the characters himself because anybody can just go on the internet and see the entire roster. I saw somebody to something similar to that, he took into account somebody saying every 6 weekdays there is a character update, he got 47 I think or was it 37 I don't know but it made sense. I'll TRY to give you guys a link.

Agreed. Someone said that Sakurai puts a character up when they're done modeling a character or whatever they do. I don't think he actually has a pattern.

Oh and I don't think there's going to be 30 character on the roster, there's supposed to be 40. I think Sakurai said that somewhere. Or I could be wrong.

But, on a side note, I hope some of the newcomers that are clones have new movesets (then they will not be clones!!!), because having a newcomer that is a clone and has the same moveset as he did in melee would be lame.

Same here. I don't think Sakurai wants us to know everything about the game. They are still things we don't know about this game and I think Sakurai wants us to keep it that way until we're able to get it December 3rd.

Yeah I know hopefully they'll put how to unlock them. I mean in Melee, who would know that you would get Luigi by passing the line when the time was at 2 seconds?

I personally don't think hes really... Going by a real pattern.. Well maybe a very vague one.

I think there will be closer to 30 characters then 40, it's important to remember that these things do take time and they do have a budget and deadline. It's also important to remember that characters like Dr Mario and Pichu that will probably be cut mean they wont necessarily be building on the 26 from Melee.

You know, I can barely remember what Nintendo did for Melee prior to release. Did they give us ALL the characters, including hidden characters (eg: Game & Watch, Mewtwo) before the game's release?
