Ok here's the thing, my school wants to run one tournament that features all 3 Smash games. I don't trust them to do any sort of research and to come up with crappy makeshift rules unless I bother. Has anyone run a tournament like this before? What was the rule structure, splittage among games, etc. Thanks.

Except I know the SBR's general smash rules.

This is 3 games in 1 single tournament, switching between them mid tournament. I wish to know if anyone knows a good, fair, way to implement that, especially due to the huge differences between all 3 games.

I've run tournaments in all three games, but I run each event separately. For the rulesets of each game, I pretty much used the standard Melee rules (established over a long time by the competitive community) and changed them slightly to accommodate the differences between the games. There are going to be some things that apply to all games (advanced slobs for counter-picks, no items, etc.) and some things that are specific to the game (amount of stock, time limit, stages, etc.).

Here's a few things I recommend:
-Brawl = 3 stock, 7-8 minute time limit
-Melee = 4 stock, 8 minute time limit
-64 = 5 stock
-use SBR rules for Brawl and Melee, and adjust the stage bans at your own discretion
-for 64, I'd suggest banning Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Story, and Sector Z, and use Hyrule + Dreamland as starters

I hope that helps.

For the three games at one time kind of idea, it's possible you could do:

1. Best-of-3 sets with each game included (game order would be important because the 3rd one obviously won't get reached sometimes)
2. Games considered as just another match choice, can be counterpicked like characters and stages. You could start off with a random game and have loser's choice next.
