...Excuse me? That wasn't being negative. That was nothing more than an opinion and a statement.

If Yoshi didn't make it, I wouldn't miss him. Do I want him gone? No. Will I be mad if it is? No.

Simple as that. That isn't negative.
You may like Yoshi or not...but thinking that it's OK for a super-iconic Nintendo character to be removed is stupid.

My hope for the Year of Smash is definitely a long shot. But one of my deepest, darkest desires, as well. You ready? Here goes...

Super Smash Bros. Trilogy

The first three installments of the Smash series on one Wii U disc. That way, if you don't already have all of the Smash titles (or if your Melee discs are wearing out), you can experience the fun that you missed out on. Each game is mostly the same as its original form, though with improved features. The controls would be updated to a similar model to Brawl's. The original and Melee would be compatible with the Wii Remote + Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and Classic Controller Pro. All three games can also use the Wii U Pro Controller or the Wii U GamePad (all three games utilize Off TV Play, as well). Miiverse integration would be included as well, with each game having its own community. The other big feature of the new release would be online play for each game, taking advantage of the Wii U's more robust capabilities. These would be new menu options for Smash64 and Melee, while Brawl's online mode would be updated to be compatible with the new network.

Ideally, it would be a bonus for preordering both Smash for 3DS and Wii U or it could be made into a retail release for an ideal low price. Even if this didn't come to pass, I would like to see either preorder bonuses or limited editions with feature unique Smash content.

I really like this idea, a lot. I'd easily drop $100 on it.

No, thinking that someone else can't have an opinion that you don't like is stupid.

I'm simply being open-minded since I'm okay whether Yoshi makes it into the game or not.

Now drop it.

I would like to see it happen. Though, I dunno how they would celebrate Smash Bros. with only two games. If they want to celebrate their 125 years of Nintendo existing, then I think that Smash Bros. can work in that since the series is a celebration of Nintendo's history.

What Jumpman84 pretty much said is well spot on :) However, they could have 2 disk, one including the complete Trilogy SSB in HD and the 2nd Disk, kind of like a small Document like behind the scenes with Sakurai and his team at work. ( featuring lots of bloopers)

Me neither, especially if the Nintendo eShop starts showing N64 and GCN titles.
I don't know WHY THE HELL Nintendo didn't release N64 tittles yet! Also, it will be pretty stupid for them to not release GCN tittles in Virtual Console. I want to play Paper Mario TTYD, Mario Party 4 and Super Mario Sunshine again(the only game that FLUDD was a good idea)

We'd be more likely to get a year of mario kart, it IS a more popular series.

That's what I believed.

Along with the newer versions of SSF2 & SSBC, this truly could be The Year of Smash.

I will likely play this game a whole, whole lot less if Yoshi was cut. Still getting both versions, but Yoshi is and always will be my favourite character of all time, and I'd honestly be sad if he didn't make it into this game. In Brawl, I think we at least got a Yoshi stage revealed at (or near) the game's reveal; it was revealed before Yoshi himself was shown, at the very least. This time we don't have any lead on Yoshi's appearance in SSB4. That's no indication that he's cut of course, but being the big Yoshi fan I am, it does bring up some concern, even though deep down I know he won't be cut.

As for this year being the year of Smash Bros, I can see them doing something like that. If they'd release a special pack (with or without the game(s) itself) containing physical trophies of every single playable character in the game, I'd só dish out 300 big ones for it. Maybe even buy two, just to keep one in mint condition, and one to display. Yes, I love SSB THAT much. ..though if Yoshi isn't in, that will probably change.

Cool I give $100 to Nintendo if it becomes a Wii U game on disc or as a eShop game

Don't forget Brawl in HD! And who knows? Maybe they'll include Project M as a bonus game or allow Project M to come to Nintendo eShop!

I'm assuming they'll release SSB and SSBM for the E-shop. Now what'll the 3DS get?

Project M is already free though, it is also a fan-made "game". I don't really think it is relevant enough for them to put it on the Eshop. :happysheep:

Mk8, MK is a lot more famous than smash
So what ?
Don't you indeed think it would be more suitable to give more promotion for a less popular series than for another which doesn't really need it ?

The odd part about this is that it took us almost half a year to get any Mario Kart 8 updates, while we saw updates for Smash U and Smash 3DS around every month, if not each week.

But I guess that's primarily because Sakurai is willing to show us screenshots of the work.

No other series has updates like smash, so that can be connected directly to sakurai being willing to give us tidbits of info. Zelda hasn't given us a formal trailer, and we know they have been working on that project for at least a year.

So what ?

No, try doing what I do when it comes to aspects of sales, which are the most important thing from a business standpoint.

Smash is coming out on 3DS and Wii U, the 3ds sales of the game will be plenty to make Iwata a happy Mofo.
MK8 is coming out on the struggling Wii U, and they'll need to advertise the hell out of it if they want it to be known that "Hey! another mario kart is coming out". If they want MK8 to sell well, they need to do a "Year of Mario Kart".
