seriously? You do know that Kingclubber is a one man team right? You do know he's soley in charge of an area of the game that has been largely unexplored and undeveloped, if anything he's made some great strides in the AI, more so that the possiblity (and my one of my greatest, wettest dreams) that a tournament level AI might just happen one patch, i can't imagine Marth chain-grabbing me as fox to death, but at least i'm grateful ya know

"Is coding AI really that hard" is kind of a slap in the face to KingClubber.
This. AI coding is the most difficult part of brawl hacking (outside the clone engine, but that is just a broken theory after so many years), and King Clubber (who only joined the PMBR in 2.5) has already done more with the AI than anyone else has managed over the years since brawl's release.

According to Dantarion, the biggest issue isn't telling a CPU what to do (they can do huge specific multibutton macros), but it is telling a CPU when to do it. A lot of the AI code is hard coded on the disc, including a lot of the reactions. Sure Level 9 Jiggs can rest out of uptilt/jumping, but as soon as you hit her she is back to her brawl way of thinking until one of the few situations that the PMBR can edit comes up again.

I found this very hard to watch due to your strange expectations of the CPU giving you a run for your money, and you should apologize for that comment about the AI possibly being easy to code.

I found it difficult to watch due to the constant groaning whenever he so much as dash attacked the wrong way. I'd hate to hear his reaction to accidentally Azendashing.

And then that coupled with the constant other guttural utterances and hidden contempt behind fake light laughs.

"Euh" "Huh" "Eh" "Huagh" "DAMMIT"

why not just highlight what you wanted to say about the CPU AI and sum it up in a post in the AI thread?
Because I'm a very strange person and I also wanted to give thoughts on Meta Knight himself. He's pretty enjoyable, great job. Are you planning on making frame data and showing hitboxes for most characters? Those are EXTREMELY helpful.

I didn't wanna come at him about his Tourette's to be fair.
Lmfao that actually made me laugh. I am sorry though, I should have worded it differently. Most of the AI are good. It's just really weird that lv.7 AI's have better DI and that Lv.9 AI's have better approaches but randomly kill themselves.

I remember him on SmashMods, so he might be use to posts auto-combining.

They don't though.

The thread is full of double posts; any time you see your avatar twice in a row it's a double post.

There's no delete button is there? :(
Edit: The Fox cpu wave-shined up-smashed me. It was pretty impressive.

Some of the AI is unrealistic, especially Puff with her rest-fests and characters with fast nairs, who will often use them frame-perfectly to do things human players couldn't be expected to do. Granted, CPUs have been doing things like that since the dawn of Smash, so I'd be a fool to expect that to change anytime soon. Also, pretty much every iteration of Smash has had at least one character whose CPU was nothing short of stupid, so Puff being kind of bloodthirsty for those rests is a small price to pay for fixing a lot of the random AI SDs from silly stuff.

Those complaints aside, I feel the AI is overall smarter and more realistic than ever. Also, Falco CPU's multishines make me smile every time.

Regarding the AI, the only thing right now that I hope KingClubber is capable of fixing is Wario not being able to use his recovery properly. I don't know anything about coding, so I can only infer that it involves his old bike coding interrupting his new Side-B or something along those lines.
