I have the game sir, I know what I'm talking about.

I beat SSE on very hard, all events, and we've logged like 300 matches, so don't call nub, either.

I watched the Metaknight video and I think you guys are getting worked up over nothing, he is fighting a predictable CP that is also a big slow target (bowser).
I wasn't trying to work anyone up. Just giving a glimpse of the potential we might see with him once the compeditive scene developing.

As for the tier thing that dmbrandon brought up - it's idiotic to claim anything about tiers and whatnot at this point. You can't predict how well Meta Knight will generally fare in tournaments (which is what a tier list is) after after only a few days you spent learning the basics.

I wouldn't even trust Japanese Melee pros who picked up Brawl to make good predictions. No one really knows where the game is headed in the long term.

And I repeat:

You can't predict how well ________ will generally fare in tournaments (which is what a tier list is) after only a few days you spent learning the basics.

ya ur right, i hope im not better than those two players. but listen, first of all the thread creator put "good players" which is deceiving cuz i expected some good players o_o.

second, melee has been out for a long *** time. good players in melee should be naturally good at brawl somewhat. iono. i just really hope this game has a competitive future thats all

i believe that people with alot of meele experience "pros" will be able to tell pretty early on which characters are "good" of course that will change once people start playing eachother more and get better with the game....

IMO they're not good at all... You can play Marth and Sheik almost exactly like you can in Melee. Of course without the wavedashing n' stuff, but I can still pull off the normal Sheik combos and ken combo with Marth easily.

But it more-so looks like they're just trying new things out rather than "competing."

i really hope you all are right. @_@ i mean therse so many things that could mess up competitive play... tripping if it truly is at random times, insane amount of frames when getting hit by a powerful attack, and other things i forgot

At least one thing's certain ... these guys are roughly 271% better than most of those in other Brawl videos floating around the net.

Momentarily that's good enough for me to give 'em a watch.

Always glad to watch competitive videos. Nothing quite like watching people who know what they're doing and have a competitive mindset.

For those of you who doubt me, and my predictions for an early tier list. Stick around.

I'll have vids up tomorrow. You'll see.

i cant wait to see ur vids and i plan on playing you when i get the game sometime tomorrow.

but dude. its WAY too early for a group of a couple "pro" smashers to make a tier list... you gotta be kidding man theres no way in hell to make a tier list of 39 characters after 1/2 days of game play. dont be ridiculous. anything you put is just your first impressions on those characters, but dont make it sound like you figured out whose good and who sucks already, cuz thats humanly impossible.

Sakurai really had to screw people didnt he. Its not fun watching players not being able to L cancel or wave dash.

Though honestly, its still some nice matches.

Why don't we just give the game more than 2 days to get up to snuff on the competitive angle, instead of immediately discarding it because it isn't as stupidly fast as Melee? There's a fine chance that matches will eventually (read: probably not by next week) become as entertaining, if not more so, than Melee.

anyone know how to unlock wolf? >_>
Yes. We have character forums, so you should head over to the Wolf forum to find out.

This question has also been answered several times already here, so you could also just search for "wolf unlock"

Always search before you ask!

Not really an advanced technique, but i really like that the new edgegearding system more or less forces players to take risks in order to effectively edgeguard. No more cheesing OP, extended length Fsmashes with Marth for example while a player is helpless off the edge. Now you're forced to jump out and risk yourself in order to get the kill due to the fact that characters can no longer overshoot edges during recovery. I enjoyed playing like that in Melee anyway (not the smartest thing, but much more flashy :)) so i'm all for this new change. Hopefully there's a frame of invincibilty as you grab the edge so players can no longer edgeguard while safely on solid ground. Make it a challenge.

I watched the Metaknight video and I think you guys are getting worked up over nothing, he is fighting a predictable CP that is also a big slow target (bowser).

You can still gage his potential as a character from the video. The important thing to take from it is an idea of Meta's strengths and weaknesses. The big thing I saw was that he had a strong off the stage game. Due to multiple jumps and (what appears to be) good priority on his aerials, MetaKnight is able to make life very difficult when you are trying to recover.

oh...and nice smash classic combo at 2:55, based on fox's frantic attempt at shield, looks like that one is gonna be tough to get out of. lmao.

As for these guys not being pro material:

They're good compared to all the other videos we've seen so far, that's for sure. And while they aren't great in the eyes of some, these guys seem to know what they're doing. I assume that competitive Melee players would want to see the videos.

Moving on...

Meh, we can critique them when we know how to play well, and the advanced techs. Right now, these people are pretty much God of Brawl :p

New videos are up. Nice. The Gannon matches make him look pretty powerful.
I disagree. Ganon looks pretty bad imo.

But anyways, why are these people playing as the same people over and over and over again? And they're also only choosing veterans. The matches are getting boring.
