I've really liked the small demon highlights we've been getting, it's better than radio silence until a major trailer like lots of games get. It also has a higher chance of being put in peoples' YouTube recommendations and stuff which would spread general awareness of the game outside of the hard-core fanbase.

Also, I got around to beating Nocturne HD, and I hadn't realised that Raidou got a special ending bit unlike Dante, so that was pretty cool.

Now, until I get SMT V, I can play this (assuming I like it):

Yeah, the Raidou route has that because it's canon to Raidou's games. Because anything can be canon to Raidou's games due to the amount of universe hopping that man does.

I've been watching all these demon showcases and let me tell you it's a nice way to keep us entertained and hyped until launch. My highlight so far is Fafnir, which sounds and looks amazing.. Though, they said they were going to do this until launch, but unless my math is incorrect (which wouldn't surprise me because I've alwayds sucked at math)... we know the game will have 214 demons. We have officially seen 21 so far and we're 127 days away until the launch of the game.

So I'm guessing they don't want to formally reveal all the demons, and keep some of them as a "surprise" when we play the game? Not to say. I assume the total number of demons refers to recruitable/summonable demons though and that it doesn't include unique bosses.

Anyway, are you expecting certain demons to show up in SMT V? I'm specially talking about demons that have barely made it to 3D or demons that usually aren't a lock when a new SMT game comes out.

I'm personally hoping for some demons to return, including Vivian and Fenrir. I think Vivian has been only in Imagine when it comes to 3D games. I love her design and I think she would fit SMT V. And Fenrir as far as I know never got the 3D treatment.

So far we haven't seen many new demons or redesigns, and I'm personally hoping for more of those. If Loki comes back, which I assume he will, I'm hoping for a redesign or something. I liked the archangels in IV but I already assumed they were not going to bring back these designs. They feel more fitting for IV IMO, also IV having sprites for the demons works best for that interpretation of the archangels. I mean, seeing these designs in 3D would be... kinda weird haha

So far we only had one redesign if I'm not mistaken, Angel, which I liked. As I said I'm hoping for more of that, and also completely new demons, because so far we've only seen 2, I believe.

That's true. Talking about Jack Frost I assume Black Frost is a safe bet as a returning demon.

If Black Frost isn't in the game people would riot. It would be pretty cool if they added the small jack frosts he has in artwork though.

I never got that far in strange journey since I was playing other games at the time, but I know the atmosphere and music are really good, hopefully you enjoy the rest of the game.

This was probably shown off in other daily demon videos or the Treehouse footage or something but I noticed in Horus' video that they're going the SMT4A route for Hama and Mudo, meaning they function like proper spells but still have the OHKO chance, kinda surprised they used 4A mechanics as we know skill proficiency's back, and hey, that's only a good thing in my book

So here's a thought I had on my ride home from work tonight. What if we get a Shin Megumi Tenshi character, but rather than directly playing as Nahobino...

Jack Frost is Summoned to Battle, hee-ho!

The idea I had for him is Nahobino hangs out in the background on the same platform as Pokemon Trainer while Jack Frost does the majority of the fighting. He'd be an average-sized lightweight fighter with ranged ice and force attacks.

What makes him stand out and makes Nahobino important is his neutral special "Demon Summon" which brings up a wheel of eight demons you can summon to assist Jack. You don't directly play as the demons, but each one provides a powerful attack or helpful support skill to aide the little snow dude. This could range from Pixie's healing to Cerberus increasing Jack's attack to Abaddon lunging out and biting the enemy, etc.

A unique aspect of Demon Summon is the demons take a little time to summon, and while Jack can still move, he can't fight back during a summoning and the summon will be canceled if he takes damage. When in the middle of a demon summon, Jack can use another function with down special, "Wait" which immobilizes him but speeds up the summoning. When a demon uses their move, there's a cooldown wait before Jack can resummon them again.

Yeah, I could see Jack Frost or the Jack Bros as a character, but there wouldn't be a summoner there if this happened. If there's a summoner, they fight as well.

Also Tetrakarn/Makarakarn seem to be a single target spell. I guess there's going to be a multi-target version for both spells.

I mean, it's gotta be either Jack Frost or Demi-fiend. Joker was the perfect Persona rep because P5 had already stabilized its fanbase after being out for a few years. For all we know, SMT 5 ends up being the next Balan Wonderworld and now Nahobino's inclusion in Smash would seem sourful. Perhaps in SMT 5 is some breakout Switch hit, a Smash 6 placement sounds nice.

We've seen enough of the game that I would be surprised if they were hiding a second protagonist option at this point, especially with the SMTV boxart already out and the male protagonist being front and center, but it's... technically possible I suppose? They do seem to be going for a very androgynous look for the protagonist already...

I don't know, I think he looks very cool. Easily the best protag in the series in terms of design with Demi-fiend.

The androgynous part fits him very well IMO.
