What is LEGO Ninjago?
LEGO Ninjago (AKA LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu) is one of LEGO’s most popular themes. The story centers around a group of ninja with elemental abilities, trained under Master Wu. They defend Ninjago from any evil force you could think of, from armies of snakes to evil overlords bent on conquest. The theme blew up with the introduction of the tv specials and the eventual series, LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu series on Cartoon Network. Warner Bros would eventually even make their own LEGO Ninjago movie (to mixed reviews). Both the theme and series have gone on to grow a huge cult following. Believe it or not, the Ninjago series continues to air with new episodes on Cartoon Network to this day (as long as you don’t live in the United States).

Does Warner Bros own LEGO Ninjago?

Warner Brothers does not own LEGO Ninjago as a whole, LEGO created the theme. The LEGO Group also seems to have distribution rights to the tv series. However, Warner Bros Pictures made and distributed The LEGO Ninjago Movie (2017). The movie is basically in its own continuity as well. So it seems Warner Bros at least owns the right to the 2017 film. However, if MultiVersus wanted to use a character from the show, Warner Bros and LEGO seem to still have some type of working relationship. There is a small chance, but Warner Bros could potentially make a deal. However there are no third party characters confirmed for this game, but Ninjago movie content seems possible at least.

Can LEGO Ninjago characters even have movesets?
Definitely yes, the property as a whole heavily involves fighting. Most characters in Ninjago have either an elemental power, are highly trained, or just both. Many characters even carry around weapons and use some type of vehicle or mech. Elemental powers are basically the ability to control different matters. Elemental powers in the series are mainly used for fighting against opponents. Elemental powers in Ninjago can be themes like fire, water, ice to mind, speed, and time. There are also many different forms of martial arts in Ninjago. The most iconic martial art in Ninjago is Spinjitzu (only from the sets and series). Spinjitzu is the ability to spin rapidly to create a tornado of energy around yourself. It can be done by both spinning and tapping into your inner balance. There are also different types and spin-offs of Spinjitzu, including Airjitzu, Spinjitzu Burst, and Forbidden Spinjitzu.

Why bring LEGO Ninjago to MultiVersus?
LEGO Ninjago is such a beloved property with a heavy association with Warner Bros. Even if Cartoon Network tries to deny its existence nowadays, LEGO Ninjago is currently Cartoon Network’s longest-running series. LEGO Ninjago was also one of the only brands to be adapted into a theatrical film (with LEGO Batman) by Warner Bros. LEGO Ninjago is one of LEGO’s evergreen themes, a staple of LEGO’s brand. LEGO Ninjago continues to succeed to this day with its sets and very beloved series. Like I also mentioned above, LEGO Ninjago could bring in some more interesting movesets with their elemental powers and martial arts.
