Also can we talk about the fact so many people keep misgendering her?
Like, I get that she's a deplorable human being, but that doesn't make it any less transphobic

Nah.
Keep the archives alive so more people can learn from their many, many mistakes as one would with any historical figure. That's entirely necessary and learning from the shortcomings of others is far from immature.

I mean, if you want to do that, then you have no need for all the other info they're collecting too.

Why SHOULDN'T I want well documented information on a racist, mental, rapist so I can keep them as far away from me as possible?
Pokelego999
Pokelego999
Because not all the information is important. It's always good to know a fair amount, but too much just seems like an obsession.

DrCoeloCephalo DrCoeloCephalo Imagine if there was a school shooter or something and people made ****ing 50 part documentaries on him with each episode being 40 minutes long each and then said it was “so I can avoid them.” Now it’s fine to want to know /be interested in some parts of the criminal mind but to literally dedicate this amount of your life to it is really weird and messed up.

Chris chan is a messed up person but that’s what he is, a messed up person. He isn’t some menace to everyone that people need to study so they’re not in danger, and he isn’t some historical figure. How does studying literally every single aspect of a persons life you could possibly find anything to do with keeping yourself safe?

Plus, people keeping this constant monitor on his life puts pressure and stress on him, like what happens with a celebrity. And a lot of times he’s done worse and more unsafe things because of this pressure. It’s ironic that people tell chris chan to just ignore the trolls because it makes it worse if you don’t, when this is a situation where it would be better if you ignored him.

I'd let them document them as they please cuz that's their business and how they choose to spend their valuable time and not mine and I'd just call them a loser and move on if they're so intent on knowing every detail on someone that did something awful.

You yourself are feeding into the attention it gives by talking about it in paragraphs cuz that's how trolling works.

So about the first part of your comment… yeah that’s exactly what I’m doing. I just said we shouldn’t idealize people who do this, and you seem to agree with me. What’s the problem?

And about the second part: you do realize not every agnowledgment of bad people is giving them attention right?
DrCoeloCephalo
DrCoeloCephalo
Let them document them and then use it for your own convenience then.

I mean giving acknowledgement to the trolls and people obsessing over documenting her. They're losers but obsessing over them is a lower level of loser.

What about this is obsession? He made a minor statement, you argued against it, so we argued our opinion. That's not really obsession.

Calling out people who call out a racist, mentally ill rapist sounds like an obsession to me. An obsession with trying to control other people's behavior.
Pokelego999

One callout post really isn't an obsession. Let's just say you hate Ham Sandwiches. You don't really care much about them. Then you give your thoughts on ham sandwiches one day when it comes to mind or when it is relevant. That isn't an obsession, but by your logic it is.

DrCoeloCephalo DrCoeloCephalo if one post about a thing is “obsession” then you must be really ****ing obsessed with me dude

If you wanna play that game, you're the one that got upset with me and wrote an essay over why using eBay isn't a viable option.

You're the one who writes essays about why Pokemon is **** and Yo Kai Watch is the solution to all of mankinds problems
DrCoeloCephalo

Yes and I have zero reason to feel bad about that. I'll say it again cuz I'm proudly obsessed.
Champion of Hyrule

My whole point was that it's ridiculous to say someone's obsessed with something for making some posts about it. Obviously I'm not actually saying you're obsessed with me, just that your logic is pretty flawed.

and that's a complete misunderstanding of what I said but whatever man.
DrCoeloCephalo

It's more a problem of feeding the trolls like I said earlier. Talking about it fuels them and gives them reason to double down so the cycle continues. Ignore them and don't give them attention and they'll have no reason to get attention from documenting Chris so much.
Champion of Hyrule

That would absolutely be a problem if I constantly talked about them and focused on them. But I don't. I made one post calling them out because some people see them as good people which I think isn't true. You could make the case that agnowledging a problem is the same as giving it attention, but the thing is problems do need to be agnowledged for them to go away. The situation isn't as simple as "if you ignore bad people they will stop"
