Okay though, to be fair he did also name used game stores, rom sites and ebay as alternatives and ways to buy them used. However, those aren’t available to everyone. Used game stores, if they’re even accessible to someone, will pretty much never carry any new first party title someone could want. Emulation is a good alternative, but unless you have a really good PC, it only really works for older games which is irrelevant to the discussion of new Nintendo games. Ebay is probably the best option but it’s not a perfect solution because the prices could be terrible and it might take a long time to ship.

Simply not playing them is always an option. I immediately closed down and will probably get GTA 4 refunded at some point when I found out they were making me sign up to their dumb social club in order to play the game I purchased. I'm not gonna support games that make jump through hoops like that to play them. Could find a cracked version somewhere, but the franchise is honestly kind of overrated.

You also have the option of simply not worrying about it and play the game. You don't have to posture as an activist if you don't want to make the sacrifices that come with that. You can opt to be one of the many faceless Nintendo players that don't bother with things like that.
